Ps4s first year was actually pretty barren. People like to forget about that because the focus is on the Xbox’s paltry lineup in 2017. Switch had an amazing year, but the real question is whether they can have a good year 2. There’s a lot of stuff in development, but will any of it actually hit 2018
Yeah they “refuse” to make new Ip. Except they funded sunset overdrive, are developing sea of thieves and funded games like cuphead and Ori which have been massive successes.
AAA new Ip are rare from all developers nowadays
Disney wants as much Star Wars exposure as possible, plus the price of such a contract would be massive. It’s in both EAs and Disney’s best interests to get as much Star Wars out there. EA needs to recoup money, and Disney wants the extra marketing/publicity to help boost sales for all things Star Wars.
I don’t see Disney handing out Star Wars like the marvel and insomniac/square deals. I guess it’s possible though.
There’s no one else who can pump out a bunch of games. Those are the only 3 options. No other publisher could afford to take on the Star Wars license.

As someone who doesn’t own a ps4, I was jealous of this game. I don’t think it deserved all the negative coverage it got. The time period it covered was not really explored much in gaming
