I have no doubt that Sony will make it's investment back way sooner than Xbox and Activision. Destiny is becoming more popular while COD has been on a steady decline.
I bet that Sony will generate the money spent on Bungie unless than 4 years. MS and Activision will not.
Destiny 2 paid expansion will have a bigger realease than Halo infinite ftp multiplayer.
The deals was in the work for months if anything the Activision deal was made in response.

Because Bungie is a 700 people strong team with an expertise on FPS, multiplayer and service games. With a decades long history of making very popular franchises. With destiny 2 being one of the best playing service games out. The witch queen is coming out in a few day and over 1million people have preorder it. A very pricey paid expansion, 1 million people for a what's an almost 5 year old. Destiny 2 is more popular than the new Halo and only one those 2 is Free.

I would agree with you if destiny was a bad game but that's not the case. Infact it seems Destiny might be one of the few well run service games if not the best.
The only thing I really want is destructible vehicles like GTA4.
