This franchise is basically the new Halo as far as I am concerned.
That is, buy the GOD DAMN GAMES PEOPLE!!!! There's no reason why uncharted 2 shouldn't sell 5 million copies in it's life time! I mean gears of war was a new ip, but it still managed to do extremely well. You could argue that the advertising was a contributing factor, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a new ip. I hope to god Sony can bounce back into it's rightful place as it has been delivering more quality goods, but that's up to us not being anal about purchases! I'm Sick of games...
PS3 has much more going for it this year that the previous no question, with games like LBP, Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, and Killzone 2 (if that is infact out this year). Still, I feel people are undermining both Gears 2 and Left 4 dead.

If prices go down on blu-ray titles, it will definitely happen sooner than we think. People like barnyard bargains and blu-ray discs prices haven't quite made it to the acceptable price range.
It's sort of like Final Fantasy titles where the name alone will allow it to sell 1 or 2 mil copies without much effort. Never understood why people complain and then proceed to purchase it anyway.
Game play on the other hand does. This title has the potential to be tons of fun. Too bad I feel it will be overshadowed by titles like resistance and gears 2. I know I won't be penny pinching this holiday that's for sure!
Killzone 2 has been delayed for 09. Games coming out in 09 shouldn't be listed on a 08 list no? Some of the titles you people have listed are not viable as some are simply speculative.
Lets hope these two companies stay neck in neck for awhile, otherwise things might get bland. This Gen is so much more interesting than last gen!
Great game! Overhyped? Sure, but it was still fantastic. Sony lovers do not fret about this. No need to show desperation, the PS3 will show its true potential soon enough.
To my knowledge PS3 has two models. One being the 500$ 80 gb model and the other the 400$ 40gb model.
Let me get this straight. Left 4 dead has already outsold uncharted 2 in just two weeks compared to sales of almos two months. I'm really losing hope in the playstations community. I mean when are they going to start supporting their games?? If there are 27 million consoles sold then you would think that uncharted would alteast garner a couple million copies in sales. For a game of such quality, it doesn't seem to be selling at the rate it should.
