The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufacture...

It's nice to see them pushing the tech on consoles. F1 24 and F1 25 actually offer up to 8K 60Hz on resolution mode with ray-traced dynamic diffuse global illumination (RT DDGI) on track, and high-fidelity reflections/shadows on PS5 Pro. I have an 8K Samsung . Do I regret buying the TV? Somewhat...there's hardly any 8K video content even today other than a few games even now; I used to view most 8K videos (basically landscape and nature scenes) on YouTube. However, it looks like they ...

This is awesome! I can’t wait to give this a try and revisit some of the earlier PSSR enhanced games!

I should add that I don't really think it may be a good thing.

Wow. This was a very insightful read. It's definitely going to be interesting regarding the direction MS takes with the Xbox and how it may affect gaming as a whole.

I’m honestly not surprised by this and Microsoft’s nonchalant attitude towards innovation for the next XBox. One can just look at their long list of hardware abandonment that spans multiple markets: Microsoft Zune, Microsoft Band 2 (I actually had one and was hoping for a Band 3 with more features), Windows phone, Kinect, Holo-Lens 2. Some of their devices showed promise, but they failed or chose not to innovate them. Back in the day, you could actually own Microsoft Office on PC outright on ...

This dude is basically allergic to evidence-based medicine. He has a track record of this in other areas. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to go after GTA6 and other games. That baseless crusade would cause the ire and wrath of gamers everywhere.

I really enjoyed reading that interview. Best of luck to him and his team as well as Kamiya (original DMC director). I remember playing DMC 1 on my launch PS2 for the first time and was blown away by the gameplay and graphics. I'm definitely looking forward to what Itsuno comes up with! I love both new and old series! lol

Yes! I remember this game on PS2! It was tough and challenging but well worth it. They should definitely pursue it.

I was wondering how a sequel was possible with the way the first one ended. I definitely would love another game in the series, especially now that I know Sony owns the IP. I initially thought it was Ninja Theory who owned it. It really demonstrated the graphical power of the PS3 at the time. Some of the boss battles were epic, especially the final one!

Technically, there's one PS5 game that natively supports 8K 60 FPS called The Touryst which came out in 2021. It's not graphicly impressive compared to the likes God of War: Ragnarök but is impressive none the less given it's specs. It reminds me of 3D Dot Game Heroes

I had actually checked Best Buy earlier yesterday morning and saw they had them in stock and was going to order one ahead of time. I checked back later in the afternoon and saw new disc drives were no longer available at any best buy location other than open-box. I was a bit surprised the drives were selling out given the mostly negative reaction about the price of the PS5 Pro which is understandable. I ended up purchasing one off Amazon yesterday afternoon. I hate to think that scalpers may ...

Nice! Looking forward to this one. It kind of reminds me of Max Payne to some degree.

Yes, indeed! That sign-in screen support news is music to my ears! I had just bought a travel router of Amazon just for the purpose of trying to play the portal on public-WiFi that requires sign-in screen such as hotels and other areas. So glad I didn't open it yet and will be returning said router. I'm so overjoyed with this news that I just shared the article with some buddies of mine who own a PlayStation Portal. lol

This may or may not be related, but I sure wish they had developed a sequel to Heavenly Sword regardless of platform. It was developed by this same Ninja Theory developer when they did that exclusive game for Sony. That game definitely was a sight to behold. Come to think of it, that game was short too. lol. It was about 7 hours to 9 hours. Some articles noted as much as 14 hours. It was a competitor to God of War when it released back in 2007 on PS3.

"Previously, Stellar Blade, known as Project Eve at the time of its announcement, was scheduled to come out on Xbox and PlayStation. However, it seemed the project ran into funding issues, facing possible cancellation entirely. This led to PlayStation assisting the studio, and when Project Eve resurfaced as Stellar Blade, it was revealed that the Xbox version had been canceled."

How is Sony stealing when it's funding the studio and project? I don't see MS ...

Wow. I was really looking forward to at least playing a decent campaign. The Modern Warfare 3 beta was a a bit lackluster for me. After reading this review as well as that from gamespot and some other reviews of the campaign, that was the final straw. I contacted Sony support earlier this afternoon and cancelled my Vault Edition pre-order. I may reconsider if there's a price drop down the line; that would really depend on reviews of the multiplayer component and my interest at the time. T...
