i'm not sure the age of all you peeps posting, but in case WoW is ur 1st MMORPG, the "cater to top 5% while dragging along the 95% rest of the population" has existed since EQ and probably before. this strategy will never change because it works. couple this with the task/reward cycle and social enviornment, and you got urself an instant success. the mystique of the game mechanics and alluring draw to end game content and gear for most is enough to keep them hooked.

this is a big improvement over ps2 socom and will be a very nice distraction until the true next gen socom will come out (socom4 by zipper). think of this as a beta of sorts for socom 4. and socom is not all about graphics, it's about realism and TACTICS. it's very rare one guy dominates the other team, you have fixed health with no health packs so you must play smart and be quick. i'm just still pissed they changed "terrorists" to "mercenaries"...
