HDMI 2.1 will be on both consoles, proper 4K machines that can handle alot more.

That Sony Playstation 4 is an over rated console.
It has games worth playing from time to tine but that's it, weaker console with fake 4K, basic UI, lack features console features and apps.

People wanted to play Sonys first party games which has nothing to do with anyone else.

It's not just Sony breaking records, they are all selling well so consolss are going nowhere.
PC is a different leauge, capable of much more than a console and sometimes held back by them.
It's quite simple one doesn't offer the choice the others do.
I personally think Sony should join in but if they don't then remember it for next time they want to sell you something.
Considering it's a handheld it makes sense smaller games are a success.
You talk some rubbish, crossplay has been round for many years and never been an issue.
It has nothing to do with profits, Sony have sold alot more than anyone else so people won't be looking to change because another console plays the same on the same servers.
