I’m no “elite” player, but unless a game is challenging *on some level*, it’s not worth playing. It doesn’t have to be Returnal or Souls-hard, just challenging enough to make me think. And this is why I won’t be playing Rift Apart. Catch-22 for them, eh? Open the door for players that typically find games too challenging, close the door for players who only play games to overcome their challenge.

I used to Stan for these games. Legit, I really used to argue against people on here about how anyone opposed were just sheep to the feminist agenda. In reality, this stuff is truly destructive. I will admit to being subverted by it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Quit porn, find a wife, make a family. What a horrible waste of time and energy. Old games ARE better so better performance of those games means better console. Proof? “True” Next Gen so far: Remake (Demon’s Souls), retread (Ratchet 12), Live Service (Destruction All Stars), Rogue Likes (the worst & laziest genre of games ever conceived - Returnal/Deathloop). The ONE game that makes my PS5 purchase worth a dang is Astro. I play my Xbone Series X wayyyy more. Ori in 4K 120 FPS was GORGEOUS.

If hard mode made the AI more intelligent or rebalanced enemy types so it mattered which weapon type you use, you’d have a point.
Sadly, in this case just turning enemies into bullet sponges does not make the player think or strategize, it just takes longer to kill them. Therefore, this “hard mode” is more accurately titled “long mode”.
