The Rocksteady rep quoted is Dax Ginn. Still a cool name. Sorry for the wrong attribution.
Making a game accessible doesn't instantly make it dumbed down, the genre is large enough and mature enough to have more than one way of developing an RPG.
Purists may have expected certain RPG conventions, but that doesn't directly correlate to a low score, especially when it turns out to be an enjoyable and engrossing game in the ever-growing and mutating RPG genre.
Yeah, need to get on the beta for this myself as not sure what to make of it yet.
But sometimes we do get a gem - Chronicles of Riddick?
Okay, I was wrong. Thanks all. Looking forward to hearing more about this one. :)
No problem! Doesn't look like it'll get approved anyway. For some reason a story I deleted is still in the pending list and has been reported as a duplicate to this. Having trouble with N4G's Javascript for some reason, keeps crashing my browser.
Odd, thought I'd deleted this story. Having trouble with some of the javascripting on N4G, it's crashing my browser, so may not have deleted this properly. Will try again. Taken the deconstructing update and separated it from the general 'this game has been announced post' I original wrote.
Source is an interview with MD of Bethesda, Sean Brennan a few weeks ago - http://www.gamesindustry.bi...
"We've signed the Splash Damage deal, and its first title with us is going to be shown at E3. We're not announcing the name yet, but it's a first-person shooter. That's a product that we believe is a genre-breaker, it's a real killer app."
The source header has been changed. Original was 'Talking to Cryptic Studios, that's what', which was a reference to the title of Dave James' monthly print column called 'What are you doing, Dave', which, in turn, is a reference to HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Will have a word with Dave about relevant headers for the web, as it made no sense and frankly made this little job a pain in the neck, as it's almost 7pm here in the UK and I want to go see my girlie.
Dunno what to do abo...
Hey guys,
The original PCFormat magazine article is posted here, complete with pixel art:

Hmm, can't seem to edit my posts, or more specifically the URL above for some reason, which is great. Last try.
Cheers!
It's fair to say it's had a mixed response, mainly because the combat is weak, but if you're looking for something different to the usual FPS fodder, then it's worth a look.
