I agree that a patch is likely, but I -really- hope it isn't modified at all. Is it broken? Almost certainly, to current player perspective. Does it radically change the meta and make interesting choices? Yes.
I'll take interesting choices over "balance" personally.
I suspect they're both based on the same lore, though I couldn't back that up.
Dan can certainly be over-the-top, and it's not everyone's cup of tea (Mine included)
2.5 million subscribers, presumably?
Thank you for the feedback, folks! It's entirely possible they will be -fantastic- games, but the shadiness is unbecoming of a major industry.
As for them being randomly selected: Are they the same games for everyone, but randomly chosen, or is it random from a pool for each person who orders?
Agreed, no idea why this got approved.
The very nature of the article is to inform people who wouldn't otherwise know about the game, and thus would have no reason to go on the Steam page and read the contents of it. By the same logic, a newspaper headline reading "Osama Bin Laden executed, details top secret" would just be click bait, rather than informative, because you could just go ask the people who know more. By the existence of this article, casual gamers, those who primarily play other genres, or otherwise wo...
I'm afraid it says just about all there is to say about the game, which is has not been released. Many of the mechanics have seen changes since the development changed hands, the details of which are covered in the developer's website, linked at the bottom and explicitly noted as such. The trailer puts the game's mechanics on display in a way which is more effective than text would be.
Beyond that, we know that it's a puzzle-adventure game about solving your...
Right? Sooooo excited for a good Warhammer 40K game
Aye, I felt similarly when I read it. My limited understanding of the industry is that the game has to be completed MONTHS before the release date, though that may not be as much of a problem in an age of digital distribution. Still, strikes me as a shipping/manufacturing problem, as you said.
Bad grammar in the opening line.
I can't speak to GTA V "copycat" claims as accurately, as I didn't follow the pre/post release hype. However, we need only turn our gaze to the likes of Saint's Row to see that, at the time, it was compared. Similarly, we could point to WoW vs just about any major MMO. There are two important and interlocked differences, however.
1. The games in question were similar in terms of mechanics AND theme, by and large.
2. In none of the above cases ...
Author here:
I'll grant you the possibility of confusion, but as with "'Sisters reunited after twenty years in checkout queue" some degree of common sense is to be applied. As interesting a story as the Mafia as a criminal organization getting in on Niantic's game would be, it's incredibly unlikely it would appear here. Breaking news from the industry is one thing, but substantiated claims involving members of a criminal organization known for kill...
Hi there, the author here to make the connection clear.
Would Mafia III be getting a tie in game for mobile devices without Pokemon GO? It's entirely possible. Has Pokemon GO made it clear to -every- developer in the world that if you can make a game people will use, it can be more lucrative than the costs? Yes.
Other games, such as Candy Crush and Angry Birds have made that clear to the savvy consumer and keen-eyed developers and publishers, but now...
Author here: Admittedly, not all of Disney is child-friendly (Maker Studios is affiliated with many channels that aren't inherently G-rated) but I do have to wonder if this particular issue hit home due to it being a Semitic issue. Would Disney have had the same reaction over "Death to all gays" or "Death to all women?"
I don't know, and I wasn't about to shade the actual article with that kind of speculation, but it's a question many wi...
