Anything that helps broaden the audience for games is a good thing.
The relationship Bungie has with Microsoft is fairly strong. You have to remember that Microsoft owned Bungie for quite a while but let them spin-off as a separate entity again because they wanted to make games that weren't Halo.
Microsoft still had (and I believe still have)a first look option but ultimately passed on their game with Activision, which is rumored to be an MMO-type game. Microsoft seems to have a thing against MMOs so that's probably why they passed o...
Facebook game.
Hey guys, I heard that HipHopGamer is a giant liar. I wish I could get the guy on camera who told me that was the case but this is information that can't be released yet!
Still waiting for my copy of DJ Hero 2 to start using kinect.
Microsoft was the one who had the Halo ARG created, as they were the owner and publisher of Halo 2.
It wouldn't make sense at all for a known Halo project to be re-associated with a multiplatform Activision title.
The game has quite a few unlockables, 26 fighters, 20 stages, the training mode, "test your" mini games, a story mode, the challenge tower (with 300 different challenges) and the classic ladder/tag ladder mode.
This is a full game. These three DLC fighters are being worked on after the content for the retail product has been locked down. It's not like they've been showing off Kintaro ady in Red and Kenshi and are announcing you have to pay extra for them. <...
When developing a game at some point you have to lock down exactly what content is shipping on the disk because you have to make sure you have enough time to get it working in the game properly.
It's especially tricky when developing a fighting game because you have to plan out the moves and strengths (and weaknesses) of each individual fighter and then make sure they're all balanced properly or close enough that there isn't insane backlash from the community on d...
@Istanbull
All three gears of war games run at 720p. In fact, very few 360 games run below 720p.
@P_Bomb
I played the closed beta for a substantial amount of time and the open beta that started a title while back. It's not like I played the beta for a few days and considered it a poor product.
The thing is, when an MMO launches in this day and age it really has to bring it because they're competing with every game that launched before them (fair or not, it's still the case).
DC Universe does some things different, mainly the ...
I find it funny that some of you are saying Gerstmann is bias in some way when it comes to the playstation 3 yet has given PS3 exclusives such as MAG and Killzone 2. The latter of which got a perfect score.
He's also given extremely high praise to LittleBigPlanet 2 and gave the first one a perfect score as well.
Maybe he just doesn't like DC Universe online. People forget that a reviews job is to provide his/her opinion of a product to help the averag...
It's interesting that the PS3 was unable to sell more in December of 2010 than it was in December in 2009. I guess Gran Turismo 5 isn't the system seller people thought it would be.
Wii continues to outsell both but the numbers are plummeting fast. Nintendo should probably have the Wii successor ready by late 2012.
The Xbox 360 had a big gain over 2009, surely do to the massive success with kinect and Xbox Live.
Looking at worldwide,...
All companies do this with hot products. You don't think Nintendo was building demand by under-shipping wii when it first came out? Or apple with any of it's iphones?
Pachter is a pretty cool guy to hand around but goddamn does he say some silly shit sometimes.
Hey, that's pretty cool and I'm impressed they were able to do this in a short amount of time. Hopefully they and all the other folks out there keep working with it and do even more cool things with kinect.
I love that we live in a world where not only can people do things like this but share them with the entire world so that others can improve on it or use what a previous person has done in their own creative way.
Derp. The cart video is on the website. Derp.
This website is a fake. Nice job falling for it.
Oh yeah, that mobile turret is sure innovative. Not like Team Fortress had one before it or anything. no sir.
You do know that the Batman game for the WII/DS is based on the show, Batman The Brave and the Bold, right?
You know what, hiphopgamer you might be the most insulting person on N4G. Sure, N4G has it trolls but you really make us small time journalists look bad by comparison because you generate hits off flat out lies and ASSUMPTIONS.
Thus making us small time dudes lose credibility with N4G readers, you really should be ashamed.
Hopefully the N4G staff b...
How could they have new weapons when the game takes place before Halo 3? How could they have superhuman abilities when the point is for them to be normal marines?
Seems to me like you made a list of things people said on GameFAQs and ran with it.
Sure hope your other complaints about graphics and a cover system make their way into a "infinity ward loses passion for Call of Duty franchise" video.
Hell you could take most of your complaints and a...
AclayPS3 while I agree with you about sequels, I tried to pick games nobody really talks about anymore.
A good portion of games you talked about are either getting sequels or have already(Ico's sequel was SotC).
I'm working on a new list for the end of they year looking at 100 of the best games of all time for each console.
When developing a game you set a certain limit on what the game is comprised of and work towards that fulfilling that goal.
Once you have reached that goal, you then begin planning out post-release content or an entirely new game.
People often get confused and mistake these instances as developers purposely holding content back or removing content before release to be sold later.
This is true in some instances obviously but when developers t...
