Valve can say what ever the hell they want and develop for what ever platform they want. Who plays valve games on consoles anyways? they will run on 4 year old PCs!!!

my girlfriend plays games, though she can't play shooters too well, so I end up beating shooters for her. But ya, girls do game for sure, every woman in my family games (not to the extent I do though).
high sales = bigger online community
i look at it just like how i look at music. mainstream music is popular, the artists sell lots of records etc. while you have metal (which is far more complex music) that sells not as much. The sales only really represent that halo is in the mainstream (what game gets news coverage for it's release?), but that doesn't necessarily make it better, just more accessible.

it really all depends on the individual. I have friends that have played since launch and actually have a life, then some that started a year ago and are compulsive players that must raid all the time. the good thing about wrath is it gives the casual players a chance to get some good stuff, so i don't have to be playing for hours on end.
but then again he's been doing sh!ty kids films for the past while... though playing kratos would totally make him regain his badassness!
