It would stand to reason that Sony would want to get the NA market as addicted to the service as possible before PS4 launch, so they should be pumping out the best games here too.
It's probably just another really good game being added to PS+ as a freebie.

Yeah, with the XBone coming out later in 2014 that makes TOTAL sense. What Japanese publisher doesn't want to castrate their earnings by sitting on a finished game for a console that will be DOA in a market they never did well with to begin with. I bet they'll be lining up man! /s

I agree with the competition aspect, but MS doesn't need to be the one competing. Another could step in or Nintendo could push to get closer to the real next gen level. There's lots of potential outcomes, and a 3rd console doesn't need to be one of them. Look what happened to Sega during the PSX/N64/Saturn gen.

This is pointless from the console wars standpoint, all multiplatform publishers will do it not use any of the features of 11.2 because it won't translate across all PCs and all consoles. Developers will not adopt unless the game is a first party XB1 game.
And they *still* haven't caught up overall, that tells you how much ground they have to make up.

@UNGR - I agree, but it's not uncommon for the modern entertainment trade show to have live entertainment interspersed. If it weren't so expected, it definitely would have been uncomfortable, but definitely not cringe inducing like a lot of the entries here.
