I think that's likely not the reason. Rather they don't trust their audience with voice chat in mind. They think their audience would just abuse it, ironically they allow miiverse drawings in most online games lol...
Nintendo Operating systems are based on Unix anyway, not a huge difference from android. Chances are if they do go down this route you might actually see a twitch app etc. Main importance is quality of games and pricing of games, if they get that right it won't matter what OS it's based on.

Nah Mini Analog sticks are crap. 3DS dpad is better. Vita slightly more powerful but if you care about power get a fucking PC. Vita is ok but really a joke compared to 3DS and sales prove that. It's not even competition really.

@FallenAngel1984 some Japanese games do pretty good here in West but with exception to Nintendo, it's Western games that sell consoles. If Microsoft actually had Exclusive games that Audience in Asia wanted I think it would sell more units overall. Xbox Brand isn't a hugely hated thing in Japan, just nobody cares about it.
Just adding that there are more on Xbox 360 than shooters. Tons of arcade and other niche games. Also plenty of 360/PS3 only games (not on PS4/X1/PC yet) and 360 controller is my preferred controller so I get those games on there. In 3 years X1 might have a better library of games but right now it's mostly inferior Ports from PC, remasters of 360 games (usually inferior to the PC Port) and Inferior Indie ports. I doubt it's xbox brand-wise, just the fact that microsoft doesn't have the type of games that interest them. PC is still popular and that runs Windows but has a wider selection of games.
Microsoft should make Xbox One a Computer for Free To Play MMO games. Just let you use any USB Mouse/Keyboard and you can play those horrible games (that chinese gamers seem to like). Looks like those who want quality and fair pricing are becoming a minority. Oh well we have had almost 8 generations of quality titles to play (and still got Steam/GOG until they sell out).
Most people just play one or two games (call of duty/halo) so not surprised they don't go back. Personally use 360 more than X1 since it has more and better exclusives.
Same with GTA really. I mean yeah there is a story in there but most just want to go on a rampage. Gameplay is lot matters and we will see if it ends up being fun or not when it's released.
Wii U isn't traditional, Traditional wouldn't have a gimmickly touch screen and would focus on hardware power. I don't have a PS4 but really it's the only "Traditional Console" out there. Nintendo should combine their home/handheld console.
