The main thing is they wont sell the PS4 at a loss, meaning PS5 will come out in like 5y.
One of the reason this gen was this long is becuz Sony and MS only started making money 3y in the generation.
Consoles always punch above its weight.

It has only 32mb esram and 102GB bandwith, didnt know if you realise it thats a small amount.And i didnt read any developer saying they preffer Xbox 1 ram layout.
By having 3 OS , ddr3 ,10% of GPU , 2 CPU cores,and 3GB Ram reserved for TV ,Kinect and other stuff shows that gamers werent the main focus.
With the ps4 all the CPU , GPU and 7GB ram is at developers disposal.
It has ARM chips for the OS , recording, etc.

Its comparing a xbox crippled 7790 radeon(10% reserved for 3 Op Systems and kinect)
and a comparable 7870 for ps4.

With nvidia making Volta with around 24 tlops in 2016 imagine how much the PS5 will have if its realesed in 2018-19.

Ps4 has a modest CPU but custom GPU with 64 compute huge increse from 4 compute that the normal pc verion would have.
Xbox has 2 or 4 i dunno.
And just like with PS3 in 5y we will wonder how its possible for a game to look like that good on such old hardware.
