Sadly you failed to mention the little inbetween, over here we call it EUROPE!!!!!
Sony need to pull something out of the bag here, they need some games in japan asap.
Note to self-: Cancel all appointments for sept 26th.
Im not ready for the plunge just yet, i have too much audio software that i don`t think i can trust to work 100%. Though it would be nice for me to have acces to ALL 4gig i have in my machine......In time ill upgrade but happy with XP for now.
One year ago to the day, i alongside many thousands of other devs, were patiently waiting in the lobby area of the convention centre, waiting for the doors to get flung open, where a free for all would breakout as the mad scramble for "freebies" would claim many lives (though the claim many lives didn`t happen!!). And now im here in blighty with a work schedule as long as my arms! (i have large arms).
80nm.
Yeah, im somewhat dissapointed by what ive read. I was expecting a nice bump over the 8800gtx.........Wheres the 1gig xtx version also??
This is garbage! this sort of "news article" should never get to the main page. I think the mods need to clamp down on these forum/blog stories, and let us all start to find "real" stories, there are many out there waiting to be posted! This site will be a whole lot better for it.
It aint rocket science guys. The more you push, the more you display, its going to eat into your frame rate. Lots of little tricks can be applied to keep at a nice high rate, culling, reducing draw distance, lowering AA and AF levels, lower poly models, these are just basic things of course but would also mean using these methods would come at the sacrafice of overall gfx quality. Its kind of a balancing act really, also depends on how good the engine is under the hood. The fact Forza2 manage...
"It takes twice as many polygons to run at 60fps, so this is a pointless comparison".
Come again?
Nice setup Pheonix. Hey, i hope you don`t drive from that position!!!! hehe.
Hit and miss for me. I guess ive just been blessed with plenty of good 360 stuff over the past 6 months or so. I hope they fix the few framerate probs for final release. The demo graphically reminded me a lot of the rain section in Gears, very similar effect though not quite up to Gears standards, but of course there aint much that is. When the giant worm appeared was quite a big suprise however!! v.nice indeed, gotta watch for them there flying cars!!!!
New preview in latest edge magazine, very favourable indeed, with special praise for the gfx.
Theres a cracking preview in the new Edge magazine!!! The water really is THAT good!!!! They also mentioned some of the other levels in the game, which considering the game is set on a huge cruise liner is actually quite varierd. They went into detail on how much water plays in the whole game!!! V.impressive!! One to watch!!
Get it bought already!!
Lets not.
GTHD runs at 60fps (same as Forza 2)in 1080p, only replays are 30fps (same as Forza 2). As far as "fake backgrounds" are concerned, just before you start your game, you get lots of nice various panoramic shots of the background, leave long enough and you get a glorious flyby of the "fake mountains" in glorious 3d, sadly not a 2d "background".
A wise decision.
Here here, i also had higher hopes but am left a little flat sadly. Its smooth enough of course 60fps (30fps during replays). But i dont know, its lacking something else, just missing that extra step up in visual flair.
I think whats also missing is some kind of shake cam, if ur in bonnet view for example it would be much better if the camera would shake the faster u go, this would give a better sense of speed but also of being connected to the track, again maybe constant suptle rumble...
At home........working........... ..and downloading!!!!
To any 360 guys who may be in here, please ignore bigmacs comment, speaks volumes he only has one bubble, as said above don`t turn this ito another fanfest!
