Already excited by this and after reading this and the recent preview in Edge, my expectations have risen that little bit more!............
i toatally agree with you Beans, i think you will only see the "real" power of the 360 3 or even 4 years from now, its been proven time and time again on past consoles. Yeah, im with you on that, waiting to see teh prices of the Quad cores, and also to see what AMD have planned, one thing is for sure though the new cards are gonna cost us at least 400 quid each !!!!!!!!!!
Sadly the 360 doesn`t have such features. The DX10 feature was a rumour ATI shot down quite some time ago. The Xenon is based on DX9 which is SM3 of course, though it does have extra extensions. DX10 is SM4 of course, though Vista is still DX9 compatible, and should improve DX9 programs a bit. The 1st DX10 cards are Nvidia`s 8800(G80) due to be announced on October 18th, and Ati`s R600 is due to be announced in January.

I along with the Hardcore footy guys will stick with Pro Evo, and you can stick with the casual guys playing Fifa with its imposiball bednding (a skill achieved at "the highest level" no doubt? lol), and i won`t even get started on the 14-10 scorelines!!

Im 31 years of age, I have been playing sunday league football and 7-a-side for many years, playing games since i was 6, and have worked in the games industry since 1994, working with the likes of Electronic Arts, THQ, Atari and Konami.......if we are naming names here? but in all of this you haven`t provided any "facts" of what you saying? Looking at the videos, you can tell the ball movement is not right, i`d love to be able to bend a ball ...

at the end of the day you dont have do buy these things, they are giving you a choice, any microtransaction is giving you a choice, and its upto you to decide. If you do you do, if you dont.........you dont!
Looking good, though i think the explosions and flares/fireballs etc etc could be improved which i dare say will come with time.
Of course it HAS to improve as its been playing catchup all the time, maybe it has fancy ball physics, but Pro Evo has had this for years. I`ll rephrase, ill bet the new Pro Evo plays a better game of football than the new Fifa, even judging by the screenshots, movies etc etc. I was stating my "opinion" not "fanboy" comments as you say based on previous incarnations of both titles. I think you misunderstand !!!! i said i prefer to play Pro Evo over fifa, how can this be construed as a being a "fanboy" comment? if i want the most realistic game of football then hands down Pro Evo has always been that game. Whereas Fifa may "look" better, it certainly doesn`t "play" better. Again, tell why this is a "fanboy" comment. Gameplay over gfx pal, get over it.

dig the magazine out if you can, the best preview of the game thus far i`d say, and also a highly praisworthy preview to boot! One of the biggest plus points for the game is it AI according to edge, when you read through it you will understand why this is no run of the mill racer/offroad driving game. on a final not a few quotes about the gfx and other technical aspects for the tech whores on here.

R520 yes,which is what the X1800 architecture is, but the R580 architecture has been around since December 2005/January 2006 which is the X1900(1950) range, and the soon to be released R600 which will be Ati`s flagship card, looks to be quite a monster just like the G80. For those of us with bottomless pits of hard earned cash, these cards will be something to look forward to greatly !!!!!
