Indeed, starcraft is one of those games that take lots of dedication though, sort of like touhou if you've ever played it you'd know its insanely difficult to beat the game on EASY due to a big learning curve then you have to work on grazing better and knowing when to bomb and not to, and memorizing a lot of spellcards.
I imagine it'd get old after seeing it enough but still looks good.
While I don't agree with every point made this is one of the better articles on N4G regarding video game piracy and feel steam has helped a lot, as PC gaming has saw increases in the last few years (arguably) because of it. Yet according to some people PC gaming is dead from piracy, of course I find these to mostly be people out of touch with the internet and new technology.
this'll probably go about as well as boycotting BP but you're welcome to try.
I already use linux, I dual boot ubuntu 9.10 and windows XP
Its not a matter of wanting it for myself but more for the FOSS movement to grow since FOSS tends to be better with the right community as they can modify it to do anything and everything making your experience with it better
Linux gaining third party support would hurt them, you can customize linux far more than windows or mac, and it's free resulting in better prices for PC manufacturers. There...
the thing I want most
is for them to make it more secure and more command line features, a lot of people will bitch if they make it more secure because they'd rather convenience than security. Windows command line feels really limiting in comparison to linux. I'd like them to make it open source and free(as in freedom, google GNU) but that's asking a bit too much
problem with windows is that it has the support and budget but not the passion or sec...
nearly every mac users logic, mac is actually the least secure operating system after you count out the fact that it's not usually a target due to a small userbase.
Of course, I'll get tons of disagrees from macintosh witnesses about this because they follow jobs around like he's a god.
Linux > Windows > Mac
in terms of security.
using logic on N4G
you'll break it.
You missed everything I said in that post.
He's treating blizzard like a god of MMO's and that's just fanboyism on a smaller scale than the console wars.
I agree, though not all of them are trolls, a lot of them are legit babies circlejerking over why mommy bought them a PS3 or 360.
I want my PS2 and smaller game market back, ever since games became the "in" thing with kids it feels like it's just started on a downward decline.
fanboyism a bit there patcher? THough I suppose loyalty to a dev like that is a bit better than to a company as you'll just love their games more and not participate in console wars as much
though if theres a MMO war it could get just as nasty.
probably early 2011
because I doubt games would take that long to develop, and from the looks of things devs have had their hands on the 3DS for quite a while
I bet Japan gets it Q4 2010 and us Q1 2011, seeing as how it usually comes out in japan first and as I said I doubt they'll be waiting that long with the 70 some launch titles.
source gives me a 404 but I"d say it's the adaption curse
usually when something is adapted the source is better because it's kind of like translation, the original message and intent is conveyed, but not as was originally inteded by the person who wrote it, now there are adaptions better than the source but more times than not it's the other way around.
I won't even bother with reading the article
because it's been covered to death already.
games are art depending on your definition of art, as art has never been clearly defined, for me I look at art as something you make dynamically, and by dynamically I mean not making the same thing over and over again like a assembly line fashion.
I look at games as art but not art, I find them to be a collective bundle of art from many differen...
@Spektical
that's subjectional to the person, personally I'm sick of everything being a shooter, granted there are some non shooter games out that are good, but not that many.
@Tretton
Troll more subtly.
then MS/Sony made them cool.
it's only a gimmick until your favorite company releases a knockoff!
I dunno about the rest of you but since we've moved on to this gen gamings felt pretty empty to me, not dead, but dying.
it feels like theres no love in games anymore, just money money money, and the end products show that when they're sub par.
I still wish they'd redo the new box art.
not the move one but when they changed it, it looks terrible, a logo on a gradient with a red line, eww. I liked it when it was verticle better, but they intergrated it into the existing box art pretty well, but with some box arts it'll clash with it, but that's the point of advertisement, to distract you and draw your eyes away from what they were at before.
Reportedly the RROD problem with 360 has been fixed for a few years, not to say it doesn't happen but just not as much.
360 S still has a few problems but MS will probably fix them in a revision to it soon, probably cheaper to fix the disc trays problem than replace a bunch of games.
Luckily I haven't had any problem with my 360 and I've had it for about 2 years come this fall.
No, neither PC nor console are dying, just because one has a slight sales drop does not equal dying.
also cloud computing will probably pass like a fad and (I hope) it does, nothing like BUYING your games then having to PAY to play them on top of the payment for the internet.
