"So where does this leave us? If someone already has or can afford a 1080p HDTV with HDMI, wants to take the risk with Blu ray, doesn't care that built in players are crappy compared to stand alones, already has Wi Fi, and doesn't care than the games will be the same quality as the 360's (although may be more expensive), then the PS3 is a great deal for the extra $200 it costs. This doesn't qualify as the majority of gamers, though, or even a significant percenta...
Games on PC/360 but not on the PS3 do count, since we are talking about the difference between CONSOLES. Here's a list of games on the 360 but not on the PS3:
Mass Effect
Gears of War
Halo 3
Forza 2
Fable 2
Chromehounds
Lost Planet
Too Human
Shadowrun
Alan Wake
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
PGR3
Perfect Dark Zero
Kameo
Call of Duty 2
Prey
Rockstar's Table Tennis
Battle for Middl...
You say every knows this but from what I have seen especially by XBOX 360 fans is that they don't. Hell even Dusty who runs this site made a great speach about what the problems where with the PS3 and that most gamers will not see the $200 difference as something worth paying. Others responding continue to say the PS3 is $600 and that gamers won't pay this. I guess they do it because it makes their arguement stronger but really if all your looking at is picking up a pure gaming console wit...
360 may have the price advantage but the ps3 have the hardware advantage. When one look at what the 360 and the PS3 have to offer, one will see that the PS3 offer much more. You argue the price different by 200$ but what are you forgeting is the 500$ version. the 500$ version have all of what the 360 premium had to offer + it have more. It have the blu-ray and the more storage for game developer to make bigger and better games.
You said there are only 1 or 2 games on the PS3 that...
That does sound good but the average consumer will not jump on the Blu-ray's wagon they will stick with what they know. By the time PS3 and Blu-ray player's release people will know the only defference is the storage and most won't think that's worth $600 for a PS3 and $1000 for a stand alone Blu-Ray player. It's the average consumer that will look for the bargon with HD- DVD And after people learn that it has way more featurs than Blu-ray they will think it's a bargon. People will see HD-DVD...
BC is just a selling point for a new system. It gives fanboys something to do until the good games come out. Fortunately with MS we have oblivion and GRAW and the really awesome looking games Too Human GOW and Mass Effect are not too far away. There is a huge difference in graphics and game play and well just interest. I gave my Xbox to my girl and split my games between her and my friend. After the 360 didn't feel the urge. And the only game from xbox that I would still play is oddworld a st...
An employee got fired in 2005 after E3 for bloging that the trailers (kilzone 2) there were CGI when Sony stated that they were not. He also said that Nothing he had worked on looked any better that any thing he had seen on the 360. So yeah they fired his @ss. I will give you a link to his offical blog later
Sony does not have 100mill fans Sony has close to only 50mill fans, the number of PS2 units sold has nothing to do with the number of PS fans, Sony's only got about 25mill fans to it's base. Sony needs about 100mill to bring the PS3 to the top once again, if what you say is true. And PS3's at $600 a pop it may die out before then. I see you like WarHawk, it does sound cool. Believe me i looked it up they sold a little over 100 M I L L I O N units and people went through T H R E E or F O U R ...
I think Sony completely missed the mark on this.
- Extreme price point ($599 US for a version that support Wi-Fi and HD)
- Late mover (360 and potentially Wii beat them to market)
- Customer forced to purchase unproven tech (Blu-Ray. What if Blu-Ray fails, then you don't have an HD DVD option.)
- Lack of innovation (same ergonomically poorly designed controller)
- Poorly implemented innovations (subpar copy of Wii controller functionality and...
...see for yourselves. If you watch the entire MS Press Conference, you may not be as confident of the Playstation's future. http://www.unscleric.com/in... have no doubt that the PS3 will be a powerful console with much to offer. However, I have my doubts with Sony's Blue Ray penetration strategy using the PS3 as the medium. This strategy may eventually prove to be the biggest blunder since New Coke...with far w...
Gaming is a big part of life now days. Live doesn't offer old games. Noboby will be interested when old Sega, Nintendo, or PS1 games when there made available for there respected platforms. How is that not the same? Why have no load times, why have a remote control, why have wireless controllers, why make things easier for the user, why do i have too move my HDTV everytime I want to play an Xbox game, why turn on my console with my controller, why are companies always trying to make things ea...
even if u hate them, they have no choice. u guys are looking at the short term. if u thought that they are forcing the consumers with the blue ray, they are trying to bring the cost of production of the blue ray drive through this route( since stand alone ones will be quite difficult to sell). even if they manage to sell subsatntially lesser units than the x360, they would have reduced the blue ray drive production cost and in some probability equal the HD DVD prod cost( which is far more eas...
Its really good. A must with your new DS Lite.
I love how game sites are allowed to twist people words and most people just eat it up.
Here is the original article.
SPIEGEL ONLINE: How do you respond to people who say you stole Nintendo's idea for a motion-sensitive controller?
Phil Harrison: On one level I understand why people say that. But it's a little stupid, if you don't mind me saying so.
So proper interpretation is that saying "Sony stole the idea from Nintendo is stupid.&q...
Sony, Sony...what a great company with tons of original and innovative concepts to bring to the videogame industry. Motion tilt tech in controllers (a.k.a. Wii). Online service (a.k.a. Xbox 360). Blu-ray is going to change the way we play games- reality check- it is a disc format. Games currently struggle to fill half a DVD, a few manage 5GB. Dual SKU launch (a.k.a. Core and Premium 360. Worldwide launch (a.k.a. 360 launch but one year on). Do you see what i am saying? Sony the king is actual...
The way I see it is: I don't care how much more powerfull the ps3 is compared to the 360 because the 360 graphics are soo good already that the next generation would have to be "reality" and as we have seen the ps3 graphics are not "reality".
About the article. I believe everything except the part about the Dreamcast being superior to the ps2. Maybe the ps2 did deserve to beat the dreamcast last generation but this generation the 360 should be king cause it of...
It is exactly why Sony is going to get ripped this time around because all of the fair reverse psychology being done. Example: Xbox 360 launches 11,20,2006 Sony promises to fallow in 3,2006 but pulls a no show. This was done to keep early adapters who have loyalty to PS2/ PS3 would not even bother with fronting the cash to get a more solid 360. The thing was not even completed but they said it was ready. This is what makes Sony that kid on the block no one want to play with because off all th...
My imagination runs wild with possible gameplay concepts after seeing the trailer.
Massive Star Wars-sized battles. Covey dropships that you could shoot down b4 they land, stopping those reinforcements(but if you cant, you would have those extra enemies to deal with)-kinda like the start of Hell Jumpers level in H2, but not scripted-The A.I. would position the ships where they're needed most.
To see a Covenant Invasion assault like in that early Halo 2 demo that tha...
Sure there were numerous reasons for the downfall of the Dreamcast. However, the main reason for their failure was a quite simply, MONEY.
Unfortunately, Sega did not have the financial war chest necessary to have a protracted war with a company with nearly limitless resources. Sega, simply ran out of money. This is an all too common war plan for most large corporations...which is, "outlast your competitor by forcing them to cut prices over an extended period whereby they eventually...
wow great psot VG!! my 2 cents on this Next-Gen is simple. First to make any argument and be taken seriously you can't have a onesided view of these consoles or companys. I own a 360 so I will start with what i like about that console first. The 360 to me is an average console and by that I mean the graphics are ok and the gameplay just doesnt bring anything new to the table. to the people who say that the Ps3 is overpriced I say to them the 360 is way overpriced. I paid 400$ and 60$ a game f...
