I'm sorry but wRPGs almost ALWAYS outsell their jRPG counterparts. I have nothing against jRPGs, but they rarely sell anything anywhere besides Japan except for FF which is a horrible series anyways. I agree, I'd prefer a more open environment with lots of choices in the directions I take and the strategy I use like in crysis instead of taking the same route every time in generic, linear, corridor shooters with everything all planned out for me like in MW2, BF:BC2, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Halo, Gears of War, resistance 2.... oh and the list goes on and on..

Uncharted 2's gameplay isn't that great, it's just a generic TPS with awful puzzles and repetitive, linear platforming.
At least the first infamous spiced it up with an openworld environment, unique enemies, 'real' boss fights and Lighting powers.

If you sony didn't want it, then it must have been bad. There are some really crappy games on PSN, although most are decent or good.
The reason why MS was so fast to pick it up was because it involved lots of blood which will sell lots of the 360 because its main market is 12 year olds and 12 year olds love anything to do with gore and violence(See Gears of War). Since it would sell regardless of it's quality MS would pick it up while sony has a qaulity control team....
Too bad they're often ignored by Publishers because of their small population which means games don't really sell well their besides hockey games, sports games, generic shooters like MW2 which sell everywhere in North America... It takes a very, very long time to finish one character in Blazblue and there are plenty of stuff you have to do after you finish a game.

Also, RDR sucks. If I wanted another crappy GTA-like I'd just play the original GTAs.
