Looking forward to this. Happy to hear they're keeping the excellent multiplayer/persistent online functionality.

Better finish Demon's Souls at some point, I guess.

I'll be very surprised if PSP2 does happen, or if it does, if it will successfully compete with the smartphone/iPod market. Just the last two weeks of iPhone releases have shown that spectacularly high-quality full-game releases are totally possible and that people are excited about them. PSP2 has a difficult market to break into, and with the iPhone's head start I don't believe it can do it, especially given Sony's questionable performance recently.

You know, I've never played a Donkey Kong game outside of the original on my old Atari, and Diddy Kong Racing, which I loved. Something never appealed about them, for some reason. Perhaps I should go back and check them out sometime.

Agreed. They'd do well to get a demo out there to convince the doubters.

Yeah, I'm not usually a fan of shooters but I really enjoyed this. I think it's what I mentioned in the review - the fact that death isn't anywhere near as frequent as in something like, say Gears of War. There are few things I hate in gaming more than having to play the same 10 seconds over and over and over again, and that very rarely happens in Vanquish.

I loved the demo. Not sure if I love it enough to buy it. But it is pretty great.

Yippee! Wahoo! WAH! Woohoo! Let'sago!

Awesome news. For you, I mean. It was already confirmed for Europe. :)

Great review. A balanced viewpoint of the good and bad points about the game. Sounds spectacular, but ultimately unsatisfying, particularly if you aren't overly familiar with the source material.

I have two categories of games. Triple-A games tend to fall into "trade fodder" as you know you'll always a) get a decent trade-in price for them early on and b) be able to pick them up easily later.

My second category of games are the "never-traders". There are some games I own that I've never played but will never trade them in because finding copies of them will be utterly impossible a year or two down the road.

Given popular opinion, Brad, yes there will be more. :)

I don't know. Perhaps it's to do with wish fulfilment, that sort of thing. Seeing a different life.

Or perhaps it's a "fame" thing. People like to see themselves in a game. How many times have you used a character creator to make a character that looked like you? I've certainly done it quite a lot in the past, though I've found in recent years I tend to gravitate more towards red-headed female protagonists, given the option, which probably says s...

Reviews have been mixed on this one. Some adore it; others really hate it.

The poster campaign where they left the "Lorem Ipsum" quote on it is still hilarious, though.

How is BitMob a circle-jerk for fanboys? There's consistently new and refreshing content over there from a variety of dedicated writers, both professional and amateur. I've certainly never seen any evidence of fanboyism there.

It's completely unnecessary. But it's an actual use of the geotagging system for (virtual) monetary gain as opposed to just... I don't know, bragging rights?

Interesting idea, I think. Pointless, but interesting.

Agreed, but that doesn't mean we should pander to the lowest common denominator. There are parental controls there for a reason. Parents should take an interest in what their children are doing and not allow them to access inappropriate material. The point is, we should be able to have titles like this available on Xbox or PS3, but sadly most parents don't care or understand enough to monitor their kids' activity.

I disagree with the above. I think the PS3 is actually home to some of the more creative games out there, and willing to touch on (no pun intended) more mature subject matter.

Granted, this is a silly game filled with puerile humor, but it is dealing with an issue that is of concern to many people, particularly teens and young adults.

This game is infuriating but addicting. It also spawned hundreds of wannabes for home computers, many of which were superior games designed to take advantage of longer play sessions possible while sat at a computer. SpinDizzy and Airball spring immediately to mind.
