You bring up some very good points, and I am in agreement that it does seem oddly timed (especially with the details you provided about your friend) to say the least.

Way to deflect, but I will humor you. Before I start though, let me preface by saying there haven't been good exclusives for the 360(Outside Gears, one could argue) since 09.

First to the non exclusives but non Wii U inclusive:
Defiance
Dead Island: Riptide
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Metro: Last Light
Fuse
Grid 2
Remember Me

Xbox exclusive: None

PS3 Exclusive:
Last of Us...

To look at this from a purely analytical point of view let's break the list down.

Toki Tori 2: A decent game by all looks, but the lack of physical distribution will definitely hurt sales. According to the LinkedIn profile, they employ 11-50 employees. Not quite a triple A title but far from a single man indie studio production.

Injustice Gods Among Us: Simultaneous release across the three main released platforms, not an exclusive but a decent game to ha...

The competative pvp scene of GW2 says hello. In all honesty the absolute lack of some would say basic features (joining friends on same team in casual game) or even most wanted features (different game types, info taken from Gw2 forums) not to mention the outright neglect tpvp has seen, I am not suprised somebody is actually trying to do something to revitalize the original GW1 pvp when the second was beyond disappointing.

Can't help but feel that the entirety of this convoluted "I got ya" moment is nothing more then a clever story device. From the implementation and the arc of the story one could surmise that the idea of "tricking" the player was the goal, the rest was just a simple way of "clothing" this. I really like the premise behind the ending, but feel that having "controlled omnipotence" is a cheap cop out that seems highly unrealistic. Perhaps I am just thin...

I highly recommend this article, it is well researched and articulated to be an easy but informative read, many props to the writer for the article and the website for hosting it.

Holy crap an article that is written well enough that despite the fact that I don't agree with the view point I can still appreciate where they are coming from.

seems like a good deal to me

As a dabbler in the unity engine this is great news :)

To people who think that the article does not mention anything about requiring online connectivity, let us look at the ramifications of what we do know.

No optical reader usage beyond the initial install period for each new game. What are the chances that Microsoft will allow a new Xbox 720 game to be borrowed/rented, installed on the hard drive and then simply returned to the store/owner?

Unless they have some sort of system in place that will block used gam...

Looks nice, wish they would port it over to Vita.

Bought a Vita just in anticipation of Soul Sacrifice. Although Persona 4 Golden is tying me over nicely.

Buying a vita just for this game, although does anybody think there will be a price cut on or near the 31st of april? Also does anybody know if there will be a north american soul sacrifice bundle to coincide with the release date?

Just don't preorder any games from Origin ever. Do yourself a favor and just don't, even if you plan on playing a game from EA just save yourself from signing away your consumer rights and don't support their abhorrent consumer practices.

I can't help but think that the video is well made and brings up important points, I fear that Microsoft will be falling into the same trap Sony did at the start of the PS3 generation. Hubris and Greed acts as a counterpoint to each of the well thought out reasons above, I can only hope that they choose not to have always online/used game blocking but comments from studio president's such as Ian Livingstone (Eidos Interactive) does not leave me holding my breath.

To any one who is still thinking that Xbox is on the fence about blocking used games here is definative proof from the mouth of Eidos Interactive's President Ian Livingstone

To anyone who thinks that the nextbox will not be blocking used games I invite you to watch this short video, which captures Eidos President Ian Livingstone stating pointblank what Microsoft plans to do.
