Anyone who has been following XV info lately knows to a certain degree that it is very substantial. Confirmed to have a wide varity of weapons and playing styles ( swords, great swords, lances, guns, shields, magic rings) strategic aspects ( gambit system for overall control over the party members) big cities, variety in environments. Mini games (fishing, chocobo racing) ways to travel the big open world (car, trains, and airship later as a free dlc).
Sounds like a style and ...
So the article mention "social links" and how XIII was disappointing when it comes to characters. That is a weak reasoning to be honest. XV has a different team behind it. And you don't need "social links" to feel attached to the characters. XV has a higher production value in general, this cannot be simply broken down to "better graphics". Bigger, more lively world, huge cities, the scale of the bosses...etc.
Both seems to be great.
@SmeargleFlint
So, your unshakable opinion is a universal fact that everyone should accept. An opinion about a game that hasn't been released nor that you have tried.
close-mindedness in a nutshell.
But it is unique and the members have special dynamic between each other. A new theme that is rarely explored. You want diversity by making the party identical to 95% of all-over-the-world style jrpg parties out there. So you are asking for more diversity by having less diversity in the bigger picture...
This is either nonsensical or genius...
Only KH3 team made the switch to UE4
@DragonKnight
incredibly detailed and very varied based on the situation and environment. The animations have a natural flow to them. That is objective.
It is the cost of the demanding, well made features that are mentioned too.
"The time of day cycling is truly above and beyond anything we've seen before in real-time and allows for some incredibly lush vistas. This is enhanced further by the inclusion of a full cloud simulation".
"However, what really brings these characters to life, is the remarkably complex animation system. There is just a tremendous amount of animation in this game and...
True, but Tabata first answer made it clear this footage is to show some advanced techniques and functions (notice the swords attacking everyone) it resembles some if the skills that were shown in 2013 trailer. The game will be much more balanced.
@Odoy
Because the new details sound very promising, some just don't like that I guess :)
New details:
- Holding defend to evade drains MP, doesn't last forever.
- The attack button is used for basic combos, weapons used are context driven based on equipped weapons and context settings the player selects.
- The skill button is used to do special attacks for the main weapon equipped.
- There will be advanced evasion and attack techniques depending on equipment and control input.

@Adrian and Kurisu
The teams of Nomura and Tabata were merged in 2012 but Nomura was still the director, he is the one who introduced the re-reveal trailer in 2013 at Sony E3 conference. He left the project in 2014.
Having a varity in playing styles, skills and abilities all adds to the experience. As I said the world of XV is not simply huge. It has major cities and nation. The main characters have a very important objective to keep the peace between the nations. ( Noctis is on the way to get married to Luna) but the war happens and their city get destroyed.possibly even his father killed. Despite the heavy burden the main characters keep their positivity though. I think it would be interesting to foll...
