I think it is fair to say VR has come a long way in 17 years, we are at the cusp of a revolutionary gaming experience, VR can't come soon enough for me.

If it has the same production values as the first (with Naughty dog on the case I wouldn't expect anything less) coupled with the extra power of the PS4, the game will be a sure fire hit.

Backwards compatability is nice but in reality isn't the game changer it's made out to be, I had backwards compatabilty on the fat PS3 and hardly used it,
this is about a new gen and games and Sony was the clear winner in my book, I thought MS had a slick show but showed little we didn't expect and what they did was a little underwhelming, (could the Gears script and voice acting have been any worse)

The people comparing VR to 3d TV really have no idea what VR is, VR will happen wether it's with Morpheus, Oculus or any future VR device VR is coming and will find far more uses than just those in the gaming world.
Why is this even considered news? of course they are trying to optomise their hardware and so is every other console manufacturer, MS are not the only ones doing this.

I come from an era where the Amiga and Atari ST battled it out, the Amiga quite often recieved games first and then atari and vica versa, they were not paid to do it.
Paying for exclusively certainly isn't irrelevant especially in the context of PAID exclusivety, I'm sorry but this was never a problem till MS got involved in gaming.
Well said dboyc310, gaming was very different before MS got involved, Luckily this gen is very different to last gen, MS has non of the advatages it had so timed exclusivety won't help them and they neither have the studios or the quality to compete with Sony.
When it comes to games Sony has always delivered.

I can see Quantic Dream being very interested in this Tech, David Cage loves putting you in the game, I wouldn't be at all surprised if his new game used VR.

And that simple fact gives Sony and the Playstation platform far more influence this gen, Developers will want to be using the PS4 as their lead platform and gives Sony a strong hand when when it comes to negotiating exclusive content etc.
Sales do matter no matter how some try to downplay it.
