I could never get into the first Dark Cloud and as a result the sequel got put on the back burner for far too long. Finally played it a few years back and really regretted waiting so long. Such a great game.
I'm with you on that, Moss 2 is the one I'm most looking forward to. The first was great but felt like it ended really abruptly.
That's why I said way better "for someone still on the launch model". Nintendo did a refresh in 2019 which significantly expanded the battery life. This is saying the same battery life as the current model. But that's way better than the launch model. Like, on average often twice as long. IGN did a good breakdown of it in the past.

I actually don't use headphones most of the time in handheld mode because most of my headphones are Bluetooth at this point, which the Switch doesn't support. I either play with volume off or speakers 90% of the time. I do have an old pair of wired ones I'll break out now and then (usually if my wife is sleeping late at night). That may solve it for some. I think it may not for others though. The system is slightly larger actually. Only .1 inch wider which shouldn't normally be a big difference, but some of these fit on pretty snugly. It wouldn't surprise me if some just don't fit.
I think it depends on who you are. If you mostly play docked, probably. I see little reason to upgrade since the new speakers/kickstand/screen won't help you. Extra storage is nice and so is the LAN built into the dock, but you can do that with an adapter and an SD card which are way cheaper.
