The problems are affecting Xbox Live as well...

Check out the story. This is a fairly widespread issue. The servers launched over an hour ago and many people, including myself, still cannot connect.
Wow, that's a short review.
I came to the same negative conclusion before any of the reviews were released. The game is littered with poor design choices, hugely repetitive missions, threadbare story, goofy writing, and questionable voice acting. Not to mention the game has a serious identity crisis and seems to adopt the worst qualities of each genre its imitating.
I'm not writing off Destiny, as history has shown that games can evolve dramatically (Diablo 3 anyone?), but as it sits, it's not a...
The author has never experienced VR, yet he's writing an editorial about the technology's shortcomings? What a joke.
How is anyone supposed to take this seriously? Opinion is only worth sharing in a public fashion if its informed. Otherwise, just keep it to yourself. We don't need to read about it.
We've only seen one trailer, which was 100% CG. We haven't seen a single screenshot or gameplay video. We know next to nothing about the roster, arenas, movelist, and game mechanics. We don't even have a release window. All we have are some voice acting rumors, hints from the trailer, an ambiguous gameplay description, and some "retro" costumes.
That's enough to be excited for, especially if you're a fan, but to come to the conclusion that "...
Club Nintendo is a non-critical, ancillary service. Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam are primary services. A disruption to Club Nintendo does not equate to a disruption of Nintendo Network. People can still play online, interact with friends, and make purchases on the eShop. It's very different than a paid service, like Xbox Live, being down.
Unfortunately, the FOV is more than 10 degrees smaller than that of the Rift and Morpheus. That's a significant number when you're talking about trying to achieve full immersion.
Thanks bud!
It's not a matter of being so precise, it's just what I feel the game deserved, in my humble opinion. Personally, an 8.5 seemed too low (though close to what I felt), and a 9 seemed too high. I don't want to short change the game, but I don't want to overscore it either.
If I start rounding up or down (when our review system is 10-point scale), that wouldn't be accurately describing how I feel. You know what i mean? Not trying to split hairs with a .1, but...
It's a well written review. They deserve the click even if you don't agree.
Why would it make sense to upscale a game to 4K, especially when the panel is so close to the individual's face, even the most efficient upscaling will be incredibly obvious? Why increase customer cost with the inclusion of a 4K screen when the benefits of such a choice aren't obvious? I'm not getting my "panties into a bind," just trying to understand his comment, which doesn't make sense to me either way.
In a perfect world, that would be awesome. Is that likely to happen, probably not.
Are you serious when you say that a 4K headset is possible on the PS4? VR needs a very minimum of 60fps, with 120 or more being the sweet spot. When $1,000 graphics cards like the Titan cannot run modern PC games in 4K at 60fps, how can you say the PS4 is capable of doing so?
Is this satire?
Yep. Two pictures side by side. It's probably the best way to do VR from everything I've read, but there are a few other competing technologies out there.
Sorry bud, that's not accurate. Even Oculus recommends the following:
"Your code should run at a minimum of 60fps, v-synced and unbuffered. Lag and dropped frames are discomforting in VR."
Not only that, but running games at a solid 60fps (drops gives users a feeling of nausea) with v-sync and no buffer on a decent computer isn't tough, but to think that something like that could run on a Vita is not realistic.
Plus, 1080p i...
dcj0524, Sony has demonstrated VR capabilities in the past. For example, when the HMZ-T3W was unveiled, Sony was using a clip-on sensor for motion detection. And earlier, they demonstrated a version of the HMZ-T line that combined augmented reality with motion tracking and a specialized room. So while they don't have a consumer product that's out-of-the-box ready for VR, we do have an idea of where they're headed.
Yeah, the inability to save more than one piece of data at a time is something I discussed in the video.
The "problem" is the long-term viability of the platform and Nintendo's mixed messaging. Say you don't want to play Smash. Why buy an Amiibo? Nintendo doesn't make that clear. I'm not sure if you've seen the Amiibo boxes or in-story displays yet. They only talk about Smash, and fail to mention how it's compatible with other titles. Short-t...
