I've played no, I've finished the game. And As long As I see it he is a space marine. A suit that made him as strong as a tank and a library of arsenal that even nra would dream of. It's not really a survival game when you spend most of your time hunting for them(necromorph) because you wanna try out you new toys than avoind'em. This is a perfect example of a survival horror (see video)
What's so survival about a space marine with an armory full of overpowering weapons to himself? So its a big fat NO. Call me when my main character doesn't wear a tank suit and doesn't use laser guns.

R3 is what surprised me the most during the vga, the animations were movie-like! and the splattering of blood and flesh were a sight to see!

I too played dead space on hard, I found it to be more of a gore fest than a scare-fest. Everything was very predictable.
that was one the most intense and scariest level in any game, you're just a little kid with no weapons and or any other way to fight back. Only a dim flashlight and a hospital full of maniacs trying to kill you.
Siren: Blood Curse was the only and last true traditional survival/horror on consoles. Dead space ain't much of a horror and definitely not a survival when you have an armory full of overpowering weapons. Resident evil lost its roots, same as the new silent hills
