Gaming in need of an Oscar ? maybe
Just check Oblivion and Fallout 3 from Bethesda, both haves had many major bugs when the GoTY came out and they won even with that many problems.
The version of Oblivion GotY is still bugged as hell and FA3 still freezes my PS3 often so in my opinion it is complicated to give an Oscar to such buged games.

Yaj, I also imported it and I hope to be playing KZ2 on the beginning of incoming week.
I think to garantee that Sony will have better chances to win an exclusive battle against Microsoft( like sell a game as much as Halo 3 did) they need to make a killer game like KZ2 that has a cooperative mode in split screen and online.
Just see the inc next uber game from Sony that will arrive for the ps3, uNCHARTED 2, NO doubt it will be amasing fun but it will not have a cooperative mode and that is really bad if you ask me.

When you say multiplayer I guess most ppl thinks and preffers PC VS PC fights online but for me I am not much fun of that kind mode.
Preaty much every game ,expecially FPS, have a multiplayer online mode but just a few offers a cooperative mode like Left 4 Dead game and that is what multiplayer mode is for me = COOPERATIVE on split screen or online !
Left 4 dead was so cool game, it made so much success that Capcom will take it as base for developing their Reside...

If you check the price of memory stick pro duo they are super cheap now and so the future PSP2 could have game that could be bought via download or via memory stick.
The bad thing about UMD besides the price is that it uses much more batterry power of the PSP. if you put the same game on your 8/16 gigas memory stick the battery life will last almost 2 times longer.
For every how I stay playing games on my Wii I stay at least 50 hours on my PS3 because of the lack of good games for my hardcore takes on the Nintendo's console.
The answer would be yes, I would buy a GC Metroid Prime and other games like if they ever release the Zelda game as well and play it on the wii remote.
Such Game Cube games gettign an upgrade is 100 more atractive to buy then 90pct on the inc Wii games that will launch in 2009.
No unbalance should happen on the multiplayer mode , just see this exemple of the Mario Kart Wii that if you use a normal gamepad you only race against others using it as well and if you using the wheel you race only against others using it.
What would be trobble to separete players that are playing using the PSP's control or a dualshock3 besides requiring another server to separate the two different game modes ?
Also, if PSP2 come any moment soon I will not buy it if there is no way I can pass my UMD games into the HDD of the new model of the PSP without having to buy the games again but now via DL .
I think it is possible to make the PS3 to be able to recognize a UMD disk on the PSPone and some how copy the game to be installed on the PSPtwo.

All that Sony needs to do to boost the life of the PSPone until around end of 2010 is to make the cursed web browser to work as intended.
When I bought my PSP I was also thinking to get my first portable browser machine as well and I got huge disappointed on how bad that browser works.
On past firmwares updates SONY kept upgrading and making the PS3's browser to work better and better and I don't understand why the lack of interest to make this MAJOR problem of the PSP ...
I always played SOE's games EverQuest, Everquest 2 and Star Wars Galaxies and could pay monthly with my international credit card and so I do not understand what is the trobble for foreign ppl to continue to buy from SOny in USA but now from their PSN.

Well, I am on my second PS3 and it broke already but they could fix it. Phew, I did not have to buy a 3rd PS3.
What scares me is that ppl says that PS3 is liek 1pct chance to break and it broke to me twice so far so imagine if I had an xbox360.... Jesus....
Also, every one says that Microsoft does a lot of things like paying to get games that were once exclusive to the Playstation or that MS pays to many web sites that talk about games to make then tell that 360 is better and blah blah.
Don't forget that.well at least me, I am sick of Sony showing their exclusive games in rendered videos where it seems to be in a 2048x2048 resolution and aax16 but then when the game finnalty comes we see it is not even the half of graphical power ...
I don't plan to buy another VG but if you think most of the games that are multi plataform the 360 version is normaly looks a tinny better and less frame rate issues and even the exclusive games on the PS3 are not much different of what I have seen on my friend's 360.
For less then half the price of a PS3 the Xbox360 is really cool machine it seems and still can do things that the PS3 can't yet do and besides the limitation of dvd9 it still good enough for all those multi plata...
PSP is a good vg machine but the most desired thing I would like to see this year if possible coming for it is not a game but a @!$#% browser that works !!
COME ON Sony why you don't give importance to fix the browser on the PSP ?? If it worked almost near marvelous as the browser on the PS3 does I bet many ppl would not put a pirate fw since they would lose the cool web browser from the original fw.

After FF VII all other FFs and rpgs from SE I did not like much(besides remakes here and there like FFIV for the DS)and I guess on this gen Square Enix is continuing to focus ONLY on graphics and forgot to make a real fun and still beautifull game such FF7 ,FF4 and Chrono Trigger for exemple.
So many PPL put on the top of their RPG list the game FF13 but for me I removed that game from my list like 2 years ago, I mean I will still get the PS3 version of it but I dont expect to...
....that is right, it was like a lie to me.... all cool videos about KZ2... I knew PS3 could not do that great textures and stuff but anyways was not good to see theb trying to put that kind thing on my head.
These games liek KZ2 and GoW3 they made then in high end computers with uber x10 better video card and ram memory then the PS3 so they cool amazing beautifull with aax16 and etc.
I got a PS3 and I think KZ2 and GoW2 will be great and I am buying those games...
I think that after FF7 all of the other FFs had dumb stories so I guess since SE is lacking of creativity on that they should work in FF7 Remake sice they don't need to worry about inventing a new story line.
BTW I saw that Level 5 is helping SE on making Dragon quest 9, am I wrong about that ??

To give a GoTY or an Oscar of 2006 to oblivion and 2008 to Fallout 3 when those games had so many bugs we are telling the devs that:
"Ök, as soon as the game is super fun np if it freezes my video game every 10 mins because it is the best game of the year"
imagine if the GoTY game have so many problems what to tell aout the worst games ?
