Head Bangers completely reminds me of this guy I see on the bus all the time with an iPod on and just head banging all the time. Very odd guy, I had a class with him this past semester. I should tell him about this game though, he'll get a kick out of it.
Actually I was telling my brother about it because he's trying to decide between a 360 and PS3. He heard about the Netflix thing but didn't know you need to get a Gold subscription. He hates playing online because the other people annoy him. He has Netflix, but he's not willing to pay $50 extra in order to stream Netflix.
What annoys me is how bad the LBP ads are. They just aren't good. I mean, I know what the game is about, but if I didn't, their ads would not make me want to get the game.
touche...you're right there. I'll give you that.
I'm not arguing that the Wii isn't successful, but the third publisher woes are much greater on the Wii than on the 360 or PS3. Numerous publishers have spoken out about the difficulty to convert the Wii's large installed base into comparable game sales.
@Arius
You're selectively defending it at the same time. There are a lot of third parties that have struggled selling on the Wii, because despite being owned by the most gamers, they don't all buy that many games, just about 2 or 3 per year. A lot of them hang around with just Wii Sports for a while too, and just as with the DS, a lot of the best selling Wii games are published by Nintendo.
Nintendo needs to see good third party support, but that's hard to do when th...
Perhaps you should put it back in the box for storage next time ;-)
Yeah, it seems gamers don't really give a damn when it comes down to stuff like this. But I think once it gets to a certain bad point, they will
I feel the exact same way about the game. I've tried to dissect it left and right, but when someone asks me for my analysis of it I don't even know what to say. I like and dislike so many of the same things. So I just say "I though it was damn good."
V for Vendetta would be very interesting, should it be taken to a higher level. The story would help boost social commentary in games (to a degree)
It's based off the COD4 engine but something went wrong. It doesn't handle very well at all. But if you think the review is terrible, that's fine. You don't have to agree.
It's a good quote, but it's not very jarring.
I don't know how much of that stuff matters. WoW is popular and huge because its fun, and IMO, I don't think any MMO since it has been able to top it in the gameplay department.
I know a lot of people were disappointed by the art style shown in the TOR screens but I think that the kind of cartoony look allows the game to be very fun and "out there" in the abilities and gameplay mechanics it introduces. That's part of the appeal to WoW, at least for me.
It's disappointing that the story drops off so hard. Perhaps somewhere, somebody will take note of that and make some standout like this could have. Maybe I'lll check out the demo to get a feel for it, just a bit.
That's what I'm saying
I have some others in mind: Weezer's Velouria, RCHP's Higher Ground, and some others I can't think of. Perhaps I'll comment later
True. There has to be a balance in how much is being pushed. It could easily go way into trying to covey messages and be completely dilluted, thus ruining the whole point.
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree that commercial need to get better. EA had some solid ones for Bad Company and Mercs 2, and those have been the best I've seen... creative-wise at least. Some commercials can be alright because the product looks good, but they just show it off, they don't sell it necessarily. But hey, Gears 2 is coming out this fall; maybe we'll get another Mad World type commercial that will "rawk our sawks lulz"
Can't wait to start playing the game myself. The best thing is, I don't have class all of Monday =)
I feel my arthritis stuff coming back haha. Solid review though
I'm f'n shocked at how much Nintendo games dominated the charts. I was expecting them to be up there for hardware sales, obviously. But the software sales came as a bit of a shock. Maybe it's just because they don't appeal to me as much.
