Indeed, it doesn't cease to amaze :)
I think it will, when they focus more on polishing the game and less on creating more continents.
I think Guild Wars 2 will play an important part in Rift's future. As for SWTOR, there's no secret - too much ambition and development costs and not enough return.
But that's on PC, not on Xbox 360...
If they rejected Warface, then they're not entirely clear on their intentions. And by having a couple of F2P games doesn't mean they want every game to be free.
Things are starting to change, but a couple of games each year are still not enough to push more developers to it.
I guess it just takes one of them to take the risk (and reap the rewards) and the others will immediately jump aboard.
However, since the PS3 (for example) has a couple of F2P games, rejecting Warface doesn't seem like a sensible option, but we'll see how things turn out.
More and more, yes, but there are still resilient games such as SW: The Old Republic, Tera and Rift, among a few others.
You're right about the link, I made a mistake while adding it. Here's the correct one:

I don't think that's the case. It's more of a parallel business opportunity for many developers than the only escape. Surely Ubisoft isn't developing F2P Ghost Recon Online because they don't think that Splinter Cell: Blacklist or Watch Dogs have any chances of being successful, right?
Exactly. It's no coincidence that EA,Ubisoft, Codemasters, Valve (Dota 2) and more are betting on free-to-play. It's part of the future and quality is clearly improving, like it or not.
I agree. Free from the strict demands of a global publisher they may aim for another level of creativity.
They have a tough road ahead, but let's see how they do with Warface.
I actually see your point and agree with you there, ATI_Elite. As long as the matchmaking is balanced, I see no problem there.
It's shaping up to be one of the finest free-to-play games, with good production values and a dedicated team. Let's hope it's well balanced and not ruined by the cash shop.
Shame that Dust 514 won't be free-to-play, they could draw much more people to EVE Online that way, I guess.
RuneScape is a love or hate thing, Free Realms is varied but kids are most likely to love it, adults not so much.
Totally agree, but it could be considered a MMORPG as much as a fighting game. Not much unlike Vindictus, but Rusty Hearts seems more like a brawler.
True, but as mentioned in the article, games such as Warface or Hedone will use powerful engines and still be free-to-play. The 'low specs so everyone plays' seems more like an excuse to keep on using bad engines.
For what I've read, the Bless combat footage shown wasn't final, but we'll have to wait and see.
