A silent protagonist is only good if the other characters (both all and enemy) are interesting both Portal and Half-Life is filled with colorful characters you sometimes forget your playing a silent character same thing with the newer DOOM games.
Smart decision don't bother hampering yourself with outdated hardware now if only MS could understand that.

Will it makes sense for an analyst to say that but in the long run it will harm gaming rather than help it.

Unpopular opinion it isn’t where the franchise turned weird it’s were it turned bad, KH1 although not as smooth as KH2 was still a difficult and challenging game not to mention Sora actually had a brain then they turned him into a one dimensional emotional anime protag.
An unwise decision.
