People who talk about scrapping the Wii U aren't in touch with reality. Again. Work begins on the next generation home video game console when the current generation one ships. It takes five to six years for Nintendo to develop a home video game console. Meaning if Nintendo scrapped the Wii U today they wouldn't have another home video game console to release for five years.
