It shouldn't stop. Companies need console wars. One company shouldn't have a monopoly. We need 3(or more) companies striving to be the best they can be they can be.
Console wars aren't dumb at all. It's like trying to tell sports fan that team rivalry is dumb too. People like choosing sides. It's human nature to be in constant conflict with one another, PERIOD!

I for one don't like gaming on tablet/phone gaming. It feels much better when you have actual buttons. Plus Sony has some great first party stuff anyway. Vita isn't going anywhere, but it will need a hardware refresh soon. Outside of Japan, anyway.
