@Shmee - How the hell would you know that the PS3 sold out in minutes? How do you know that the PS3 is "murdering" the x360 (a dead console as you say.. nice analogy.. dumbass.) No, you don't have to press start every time, you can change you weapon by pushing a button, that "wheel" is to use your biotics for you and/or your partners.. but you don't have to use it.
