I love my 360. It is the best console of the next generation, and I am really looking forward to some of the AAA titles coming out in the upcoming months.
However, Microsoft has a serious problem with the quality of the hardware. I have never seen anything close on any consumer electronic product to the failure rate of the 360. I am on my third console (luckily I have Best Buy extended warranty)and almost everyone I know who has one is now starting to have problems.
The theory that early consoles were defective and Microsoft has addressed and fixed the issue is simply false. The defective rate is still highly unacceptable and new consoles are no less prone to failure.
Many consoles manufactured in late 2006 and early 2007 are dieing. Think a bit here, if only launch consoles were defective this problem would not still be appearing on message boards daily.
Also people, don't kid yourself and say, "I keep my console...
