It means we're much closer to a market where consumer choice is king and brands no longer force you to buy in to their gimmicks just to get service. Only good can come from this.

I can say 'it requires effort to truly appreciate' about every game on the market and it'd be true; this title seems to be mindless pandering towards fans for the sake of clicks.
As a fan I think it's a great idea, I would just rather see remakes in the style of the recent games for RE0, RE:CV, and maybe even RE1 before we get to 5
