Ditto for me. Dialled all settings down low and even then I had the first BSOD I can remember having in many years and the frame rate remained unplayable even when there wasn't a lot happening on screen.
Absolutely terrible. I'm running an AMD HD 7850 and never had a problem with any game before. I've always been able to get away with high/ultra on 1920x1080, even if the framerate did take a knock.

I have to agree with you there. I'm not convinced basing an entire game around a character lifted from what miscellaneous merchandise is necessarily the best way to go.

Totally agree with you, MS appears to have developed the same attitude that Sony had following the success of the PS2. Sony assumed PlayStation owners had unquestioning loyalty to the brand and they were proved wrong following a few years of very poor sales.
Glad that Sony have reversed their fortunes since then, but it strikes me as particularly short sighted that Microsoft have paid no attention to their competition and are making the same mistake now regarding their consum...

Same for me too, the Steam sales took a decent amount of my money but that was for much older titles... other than that it was a bit of a drought for me too.

Interesting though, that would be a huge plus for me as I've always had a personal preference for Killzone over Halo so something like that from Bungie would be right up my street.

True but they did dump all over Europe by pushing back the PS3 release date significantly when they struggled with the manufacturing. So it'll be interesting to see how much of a lag we get this time around.
Y'see, I have a hankering to buy Black Ops 2 just so I can unwind with a bit of dumb multiplayer fun in the evening after a hard day at work. But if you're a month or two late buying it then soon word starts leaking over the next installment and you think "well sod it, I'll wait until that one comes out instead."
This year Hitman Absolution was where I placed my money instead. But I don't hate this cycle of MW/BO games every year... it's starting...

Following on from that, he stayed well clear of the Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD fight until the dust had settled and he knew which one won.

I prefer my gaming to be the polar opposite of how I conduct my life, which is chaotically and without direction... unfortunately being strategically challenged means that I continually suck at Real Time Strategy games :(

I have to admit I could never label the 360 a terrible idea or lay into it mindlessly the way others do during your typical flame war... but casually observing what each one has stacked up against the other I must say I envy the PS3 owner.

I've got the exact same issues as you with the 78* series.
I'll see what the next few days bring, either with an update from Ubi or a new driver update from AMD. But will be claiming a refund if nothing improves as this game is, as you say, unplayable.
