The rational, level headed complaints of Home are exactly the type of feedback Sony wants/needs. I agree with Casey. They hyped the sh!t outta it and it turned out to be half of a half of a half of what they showcased at GDC. And it's their fault. That said, what they have done with it has been great IMHO. The spaces, Xi, the consistent stream of updates...it is very cool. No, it's not perfect and yes it could be a lot more, but, isn't that why it's a beta? :)

I don't understand that. The game, the experience the devs wanted you to have, for the most part, is on the disc. This DLC, the Fallout 3 DLC, the GTA DLC are all just...optional.

What does the sales of Gears vs MGS4 have to do with anything? Oh, Gears sold 6 MILLION (with double the US install base) compared to MGS4's 4.5 MILLION. Do you see that? MILLIONS. It's like whining over a wrinkled $100 bill. GTF over yourself dude.
The top PS3 exclusive is 3 million? MGS4 at 4.5 mil is waving to you. Tell you what...when you know anything about this topic and can debate it with something factual, reply back.
Almost forgot, there is another fundamental difference in Killzone 2 and Halo Wars. Mainly, KZ2 will still be on the charts next month where Halo Wars will not. Selling a lot, fast, is nothing special. Just selling a lot should suffice.

Yeah, Home isn't about playing games. Its purpose is to connect OTHER PS3 owners/gamers with each other...for free. Now, in no way is that as good as paying for the Internet twice...to see ads...but it IS fun and executed nicely. Xi is phat, the game spaces alone make Home worth it and receiving announcements BEFORE the media (Play as The Joker says "Oi!") is something I'm willing to suffer through.

Sony's 1st party studios are stellar. When I think back to the games I've enjoyed the most in my gaming life, it's Sony, Sega, Nintendo in my book. Shame the "article" doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Something tells me MS needs Sony's games a whole helluva lot more than Sony needing something as mediocre, yet fun, as Gears of War.

If I were looking at it off the hip, maybe it would seem like I was talking about the largest global software maker's ability to "buy" something. However, I'm simply hypothesising whether they could "afford" to in the sense of losing out on other, maybe fresher, maybe multiple exclusives. Sony's entrenched in current gen MGS, Sony Pictures is doing the movie, Kojima's relationship with Sony is beyond happy partner and Sony's wallet is deep too. I just really doubt it this ...
