Loner, you have to have played it to have an opinion. Not just look at the pretty pictures.
EDIT: Same here Active. I remember trying to dig up info when they first released footage and the game was unnamed.
@ jetlian
And there is someone out there with our collections combined in Wii games. The point is, before this gen, no one gave 2 shits about Patcher or NPD.
I have 63 PS3 games. I have 8 360, 1 of which is Alan Wake. The others are XBLA. Doesn't matter what NPD says to me and many, many, many others.
EDIT: @RedHemi300c I'm responding to a post, to share a differing opinion, perhaps show a different point of view? Does that make sense Corky?
@ Balt
I see why you only game once every 2 months...you play salez.
"I was taking a bath and got some nice ideas… apparently while geohot released the signing tools (which don’t work for me, but that’s expected since no CLI usage is supplied nor anything useful).
Now as a simple POC (proof of concept) that a game can run without ANY SYSCALLS involved (from internal HDD) I created a small application. Here are the steps:
1) Get a game and write down the game ID (let’s say XXXX12345)
2) Copy the game contents to /d...
From the article:
"I looked up and Mathieulh have an interesting conversation with him about the developments of the hacked PlayStation 3 and what the future will look like. Mathieulh is responsible for finding the "root keys" of the PSP and the AACS keys from the PlayStation 3."
AND
"Sony CAN fix everything software wise, the only thing They can not do is you from soldering preventDefault a normal flasher and replace...
Microsoft Kodu can!
whaa whaa whaaaaaa!
Chrome is integrated in GoogleTV, so if it come to PS3, it damn sure better have Chrome.
Even more reason to spend a bubble.
Cause it would take a patch, not a hack.
Or hacks to enable anything in this video.
This needs to be in a Move ad. Can you imagine the look on Kevin Butler's face?
Yeah, tons of people are running out to spend $300 on something they could brick.
@Balt
"And for what? I don't steal games -- I have no need to. I don't game but 2 hours a month, on a good month."
So you care why?
Looks like I'm skipping GTA5.
Hackers have a need to show their skills, the "how's" to how they accomplished said hack. They love posting and making declarations. What no one seems to understand is there are corporately paid "hackers" working on the security themselves, reading these "How To's" and following their methods (which were most likely planted by Sony) to close any holes. Look at the USB jailbreak...tons of hacks, all kinds of info on how to, all kinds of tutorials...and now...
The people that care about salez are the people that let games Alan Wake sit on the shelf.
Got the Limited Edition on Amazon for $40, down from $80. Haven't played yet, still in awe of the concept art included.
Home failed in 360-land, where nothing makes any sense, but costs $60 a year.
Game looks great, that's a shame. I guess I'll play the PS3 2011 lineup instead :(
