By your comments I am sure you've never used PSN. So you're saying 50 bucks for the rest of your gaming life is for match making? Lame, you get an F in logic. Just admit it, having an 'E-harmony' community structure for a bunch of dudes seems to be worth 50 bucks for you. Even after you've admitted Microsoft doesn't even let 360 users use dedicated servers, even game publishers on the PC hook up their gamers with free servers. You are basicly praising Microsoft for shutting out the ability fo...
Every year a person spends 50 bucks on XBL that's one game that person could have purchased instead. But you are correct, if people are dumb enough to pay it then f*** 'em. I'm just tired of all this propaganda masked as real debate.
This wasn't a debate, just a Microsoft lovefest. A bunch of guys professing their love for XBL and justifying the price; only at times mentioning how MS forgot to hug them before taking their money. I'm not even saying if XBL is worth it or not, my point is; why is this article even posted. It's just a bunch of guys agreeing on XBL's price structure. Hell if you want that there a hundreds of other fanboys sites dedicated to licking MS balls.
The game was looking very awesome. This whole Blizzard Activision merger has just f***ed everything up for everybody. First Activision rehashes WWII in Call of Duty 5 and now this. Don't forget Brutal Legend is also rumored to be canned by Activision/Blizzard. They are keeping Crash Bandicoot? Me thinks they've been hitting the bottle too much.
I bought Guild Wars at Gamestop and it did not have the CD key. Luckily the guy I bought it from was cool enough not to give me the third-degree about it. Many people are just damaged goods, untrusting of any other human being, when they themselves are no better. Anyway, this 'missing CD key' situation is common, and I should know I've been playing PC games since 95.
On the topic of being treated like a criminal; my friend had bought a 360 at launch and since then had the RROD ...
This is very telling about Microsoft's attitude toward their consumers. They are more concerned with marketing and time schedules than throwing dedicated fans a bone. By reading this article, I can tell Ryan agrees with me. Though I think the author is making more of the situation than it really is.
Having photo realistic graphics alone is worth the price of admission. NO other game aside from Crysis and MGS4 have even come close. Gears of War 2 looks fantastic, but still has that good old rubber look that only the UR3 engine could pull-off.
You know Pac-Man is still fun according to your logic. Maybe developers should be just churning out new versions of pong. I mean that's fun with archaic graphics. There is nothing Sony or Guerilla can do to impress fanboys or the ultra...
yeah, I almost feel like I'm taking crazy pills. IGN, 1UP, and Gamespot all seem to have a viseral hatred for everything PS3.
First off, if they think it's 'worth it' then they would have sold their PS3's or traded them in for a 360. These polls are not to be trusted, especially one that is not properly monitored. I think LIVE is better than the PSN, but I bought a PS3, because I don't think that 50 dollars a year every year for the rest of my gaming life... is not worth being able to have some extra features. Hell Microsoft doesn't even provide dedicated servers, even PC developers do that. How lame.
I have 'tried' XBL, and I still don't care. I have skype and I use to use Steam and those were free. XBL just isn't anything special. Basicly the logic for xboxfanboys defending XBL is that they don't want to believe they are being forced to spend money on a useless feature.
This coming from a guy who's company's biggest E3 announcement was a Sony game.
I think Microsoft has some very good exclusive XBL arcade games. Sony is catching up, but they need to offer more, especially in the way of older 'classic' games. Maybe you haven't noticed but Unreal Tournament 3 for the Xbox 360 does not allow for player created custom maps, because Microsoft imposes their will on developers. On Sony's PSN developers are free to create content without restriction. Microsoft is trying to move their content away from the PC format to their own proprietary plat...
WTF? I play online, lag free. My friends and I see each others messages in-game. I can buy stuff like; games, demos, and all that. What else is there? Sure there is no unified chat feature, but I couldn't careless. I would be happy with just playing online for free, everything else Sony has added is just icing on the cake.
I play online and then I move on with my life. I don't find another vitual community sucking up my social life. I don't even chat online with my PC and that ...
It should go on sale pretty soon for 29.99!!! Yay, it's either this or Ninja Gaiden Sigma!
I noticed that too, man this game is going to f#%$ing awesome!
I think Resistance is going for a 50's Invaders/Body Snatchers type art style, while Gears...... uhhhhh mmmmm well the buildings have a greece type feel. I think the charactors look a little more intense, but seeing that new alien I might change my mind.
This article and it's author seem to be reaching out for anything to complain about. If Killzone 2 could actually transport a person into a fully realized 3d simulator (via matrix)... someone (usually posing a unbias) will find something to complain about.
One comment stuck out to me as being extra stupid;
"The cover system isn’t realistic as we've seen in FPS's such as Rainbow Six Vegas where characters put their back to the wall"
I am ...
Killzone 2 2005 footage was a different affair. The CG trailer of KZ2 in 05 was in first person, and that is unusual for a CG presentation.
The Mag trailer was obviously a trailer. I mean unless you are wearing a helmet in your living-room and not allowed to eat with forks, then that should be apparent to all who saw it.
Besides, the KZ2 footage only forced Sony to push the bar on that lofty promise they made back in E3 05. The gaming media's ass just feels soar ...
The developer said previously that they will try to upgrade the visuals and physics. That is why they are combining studios to do this. They understand the potential is there to make a better game, they just need to learn how.
Oh christcrackers, hilarious. John was down on the PS3 2 yrs ago, I suppose Microsoft forgot to send his hush money :D
