@Panhandler…of course you’re right bro, but don’t expect people in the gaming community to understand this. The guys fighting and dying in Ukraine should be a wake up call to the realities that men face when times get hard…

Not sure where you got your definition of a Ponzi scheme, but it’s wrong. The enterprise can actually exist, and be a Ponzi scheme...just watch a few episodes of American Greed :-/ Also as a reference look up Bernie Madoff

I'm not convinced the nerf of icebreaker was "unintentional".

Right before the DLC comes out with new weapons...hmmm looks to me like more re-balancing.

Oh well - when developpers start pulling this kinda limited creative thinking at the player's expense, it's usually the time I start to check out...

Going through a service provider network (DSLAMs/CMTS, multiple hop routers, etc...) will add latency to the point that we are several years away from actually enhancing graphics for real time playing. All these demo's are far from real world.

By the way - these data centers will also need to be co-located to the Service Providers to minimize latency, and this will cost tons of money. With most people not wanting to pay monthly gaming fees, thi...

Technology solution aside - this may be what the industry needs to stay viable.

We've seen enough companies shutdown during this generation. The dev costs are just too high to also be financing (read carrying) the used game industry, not to mention hackers who are paying no one.

If you enjoy playing video games, then you should want to pay the people making them, so that they can continue to do so.

Since the PS3 has separate VRAM, and the issue seems to stem from play data, I doubt they would reduce texture size as a fix.

Don't forget that there is no loading between zones, so the game data needs to be available at all times. Any time you travel around, the game does a lookup to match environment data such as dead bodies, their inventories...heck leave an axe on the ground half way across the map, and it will be there if you run back.
