“its still pointless”
For YOU, for me a Steam Deck is pointless.
“Think!!! Use ur damn brain….. instead of trying to justify of how pointless it really is.”
Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing? Trying to justify how pointless something is that YOU yourself don’t care about.
Isn’t your phone also dependent on a connection? So is that really 1:1 or no, I’m willing to bet no.
Exactly, I never look at anything on my phone pass a few minutes tops. Then the idea of playing games on such a tiny screen is something I could not do.
I would prefer to keep my phones battery life high in case I actually have to use it for a what it was made for which is to make phone calls, it’s still called a phone after all. Imagine the wear and tear of the battery having to constantly needing to recharge, the battery life of the phone becomes less and less, basically ...
I don’t know why but any time I’m on this site and only this site, my phone refreshes every few minutes, if I’m typing something I will then lose it so I tend to have to keep my comments short or continually edit them.
I wanted to add this link to my original comment which I found interesting.

Funny how no one is in this article which states the reporter was wrong in thinking the Portsl was pointless. Yet the other article that talks about some people reporting lag so bad it makes games unplayable on the Portal. Any one who says they’ve not had any lag so bad that they can’t play are down voted and the Portal bashing continues.
Probably a hand full of people if not just one person , and an entire article is written about how the sky is falling.
The only time I had lag badly and was losing connection, I was playing while watching YouTube and talking on the phone over my home network doing a video call.
With that I had a few instances where I was frozen for a minute or two and I had a few disconnects. Any other time when not on YouTube and video calling there was no problem outsi...
There’s a slew of carrying cases and stands for the Portal on Amazon.
Feel better.
The PS5 has to be in rest mode, once you turn on the Portal it wakes the PS5. That is the only way to use both together.
If the PS5 is already on the Portal seems to have problems connecting and will display a can not connect to PS5 message. It will still connect at times but seems to take a good amount of retries to get it to work, saying that, I’ve only got it to connect while on once.
Actually it works by double tapping either one of the touch boxes.
Such hostility for nothing.
Looking on Amazon the scalpers are already selling the Portal for $399, $499, $598 and that’s used with your purchase delivered by January lol.
Not a console just an accessory, only problem I have so far is figuring out how to bring up the map and gadget screen for Spider-Man2 using the Portals touchscreen touch pad.
Just got mine an hour ago, charging it up right now. Will set it up and try putting it through its paces soon.
Since I’ll be using the Portal in the house I’ll just use my regular Sony Pulse headset with the 3.5mm jack if needed.
These earbuds are a bit more than I’m willing to pay for, so like others say, I’ll wait for the price to go down or a sale.
Okay, thanks I only asked because I never read anything about older gen games.
Same, I waited two years before I got my PS5, then ended up getting it free.
My Portal hopefully arrives tomorrow early.
Damn no PSVR2 support, luckily I do have a Quest.
Also having to replay missions to get a better rating to continue to the next missions was kinda messed up. Just let me play the entire campaign, and bring it to PSVR2 where it will likely sell the most.
Okay I just thought of this, can the Portal only play PS5 games, what about PS4 games I have on my external hard drive on my PS5. Will those games work, and if they do will they work off the external and internal hard drives or just internal?
I hope mine arrives early in the day and not 8pm or later. Or even worse, I get a message from UPS saying that they were unable to deliver my package on time and new delivery date is the next day.
30 clicks to see 30 games, with only half a paragraph worth of information for a game judging by the first on the list. No thanks.
Yea I saw the downvotes for you and everyone else that dared say a word in favor of the Portal.
Stand tall and proud as you are bestowed the honor and title of The Most Downvotes. I dub thee Sir Down Votes.
