We'll see. It might take a year or two for all big developers to take advantage of dx12. Not every upcomig game gonna look better cos game engine needs to be build for supporting dx12. I hope this news is true. X1 needs some performance boost against PS4.
I have a wierd feeling about mobile industry... I even have a wierd feeling that Nintendo NX will be some sort phone/handconsole hybrid.
5-6 years i think. There is big developement happening on GPU's right now. They are jumping from 28nm chips to 14nm chips wich means lot's of more performance and less heat.

Part of this is Rockstar's fault. They should have better Anti-cheat system for online play. They should learn from Valve's VAC. I have not seen cheaters in TF2 ever.
When they stop supporting win7/win8.1 i will move to linux. I hope that Valve will keep on supporting OpenGL development.

maybe sooner.. New GPU chips that come next year are 50% smaller than current gen. They will cost less and they will be faster. They are also cheaper to produce said Nvidia.
