I had this too. The first time I downloaded the update the file was only 217mb, this is the wrong one. I went back to the same download page, downloaded again from the same link and the file was 759mb,this is the correct file. That could be your problem.
I've re-registered my email, changed USB power to always, rebuilt the database, reinstalled the firmware, none of it worked for more than a day. Sunday I swapped to a 2TB hdd, installed the latest os version, no problem with rest mode. Until the next day when it was stuck again. I'm just going to keep turning it off until they drop a patch.
that only worked for about a day for me, i started up from rest mode last night before i went to work and everything was still cool. put it back in rest mode and when i get home this morning it's stuck again.
Well it worked for a day, back to frozen again :(
This is what has worked for me.
I try to judge season passes on a case by case basis. For instance, I bought the pass for this game because I'm loving the hell out of it. 50hrs gametime, 48% completion I think. On the flipside, I enjoyed bf3 and its season pass dlc so much that I went ahead and did the same for bf4. That was not the smart thing to do.

anyway, i tried this and i was able to go into rest mode and come back out without problem a few times. not saying this was what did it, just saying i did this and i haven't had any problems since.
I guess I'll try it, and add it to the ever-growing list of "fixes".
