However, the article is about greenburg talking about xbox outselling PS3 throughout the whole year ...
Your comment about the ps3 CRUSHING the xbox is a lol ... I made the comparison between 2008 and 2009 because to be crushing I'd expect the PS3 to be outselling the abox by at least 2 to 1, just like the xbox did in 200...

The idea that it's exclusives that people buy a console for is a myth which has been completely dispelled this gen. Good games sell well regardless of whether they are exclusive or multiplat and while both types have seen slight increases in console numbers it also need to be mentioned that across all consoles a number of exclusive items have failed to make any difference to console sales whatsoever.

PS3 games take longer to make and cost much more. Delays for all big exclusives are commons ... all the 2008 games came in 2009 ... and now all the 2009 games are coming in 2010 and once again they're delayed.
