They usually offer a $10 giftcard to MS Store, or 1600 point card with games. I got 1600 point cards with Forza Horizon, Gears of War Judgement, GTA 5, and a few others. Amazing deal.

What Microsoft has done (in terms of this contract that was leaked or whatever) is NOT illegal. People can pull up whatever they want from google, but they don't actually understand what they are reading.
It is sleezy, but not illegal, and I can tell you from experience, 90% of all major publishers and developers use this method to try and get a positive word out on a game.
There are laws that prohibit a lot of things, but there are always loop holes.

Just because Nintendo is doing things different, doesnt mean they are in trouble. There is a difference between making changes because a company is having a hard time with a few products vs changing things because you are on the verge of bankruptcy.
