I think everyone ( alot ) here is missing something. Everyone looks to much at sales numbers. Even if Sony passes up MS. Does that really matter? MS will make another console. Xbox fans will still be taken care of with many games. And a great online service. All those years Nintendo had to sit in the back and look at them now. Being in last is by no means being dead. Nintendo applied this. certainly Sony can as well, and if the day comes when MS falls in the back they can apply it as well.
360 fans are just agreeing with each other? I wouldn't say that.
But don't PS3 fans do the same thing? Well I know they do except it's even worse.

Did I say 360 has the best hard ware sales? Hmmm I don't see that in my post. Read it again. I never said best. I just meant good hardware sales mixed with software sales. Thats why OVERALL 360 is the industry leader.

I'll be getting it for 360. I like the older 3 for PS2. There just aint no pro for getting it for PS3. It has no acheivements. And the PS3 version doesnt run or look any better. So 360 has the advantage plain in simple.

But there is a big difference between then and now. Xbox was new then.
And PS2 had no real competition then. But things are different now PS3 has competition. As Xbox has established itself from the last generation.
Even Nintendo has better itself greatly from it's last gen console.
