well, there's 3 consoles, the one that makes you pay is the one that dominates the other 2. so........ YES
home is not the answer for ps3 network. HOLY CRAP A CHATROOM!! OMG YAY!!! home does nothing for games and games is the catagory that's hurting ps3. if they cant get a unified friends list right that what is the point of a chatroom?
i'd pay $50 (less than the price of a game) a year to get a better service that doesnt promise and not deliver. as for the live for pc, i do think its kinda sketchy to make pc users pay, but its made to unite both kinds of gamers and to allow them to...
imagine a 360 price cut in the summer, bioshock and halo 3 releasing shortly after, and a halo 3 360 bundle around xmas.... that could be huge if done correctly. ms could sell SO MANY consoles in the 2nd half of this year. i would also imagine that the next fall update would have a nice feature or two.
content downloads are great and only make games better, but had they never existed wouldnt all of this have already been included in the game? sucks for people that dont have the internet or live. i'd hate to see everyone else take a page out of EA's book.
isnt that like saying once you've had sex with a hot girl there's no point in doing it again? if the game is fun, achievements can only add to it.
someone said crackdown isnt the best game but it does have huge replay value cause of achievements and online play. which is true for the most part. advancing your player and getting some tricky achievements is fun as hell.
why spend $60 to play a game once?
ms knows that online play and achievements REALLY PROLONG a games lifespan (see Gears Of War). so why does sony halfa** online support and achievements?
i have nothing but confidence that sony will get it right and start to offer great exclusive features, but why wait so long and stumble so much before doing it?
this is sony's counter to xbl? they hardly have online gaming so they just throw is a virtual chatroom? isnt that like tryin to fix a sh*tty car by putting in a nice cd player?
oh i i didnt mean to reply to #12 i hit the wrong button
um....... ms and nintendo are outselling sony............by ALOT!!!
you're right, ms fans should settle for a kiddie game machine or a seriously flawed one with no games.
the 360 is going to let you play with pc users and you dont have to pay for one service if you have the other. this will give you THOUSANDS more people to play with plus the 6 million already on live. how is that "taking over our gaming world?"
if that's "taking over" then what is sony doing? they are just copying xbox live at a halfassed rat...
milk halo? there's no halo cartoon, they could have made a movie by now if all they wanted was money. there's no halo lunchboxes or halo kids clothes or anything like that. dont act like ms is tryin to make halo the next spongebob
plus there were other ways to get the beta. it makes sence to find a way to get people the disc in the form of a game. as opposed to having people sign up and get a disc mailed to thousands of people. if they would have offered the disc in a magazine they would still have to make thousands more discs. and its not like crackdown was a game with no hype. they didnt slap the beta onto a crappy game no one was going to buy anyway.
to answer the other people's questions on that site, here's how you get the suv to the tower. once you select it in "the keep" you have to drive into one of the 3 tunnels because you cant pick up the suv inside "the keep". drive about 50 feet passed the entrance to the tunnel and you can pick it up. walk back inside and look for the holes in the ceiling. you cant jump through the holes while holding the suv suv but you can stand underneath it and look straight up, then thr...
this is the right direction for sony. as much as sony messed up, it's good to see they can admit it and move on.
i would imagine that this is a good feature but i dont see how a virtual chat room is the best way to fend off mii's and all of xbox live's features
-- i dont mean that as criticism, i'm saying i bet there's more to it than chatting and streaming video
one site that i saw said it deffinatly IS 4 player. here it is:
http://xboxfirst.com/?p=97 look below the pics
and here is a few screenshots from the video
http://xboxfirst.com/?page_...
that music on the game gets me hype!
if you click the images link it says
"Confirmed TMNT Comes to Xbox Live Arcade"
and underneath it says
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(TMNT) the arcade classic is now up on Microsoft’s PartnerNet. The game is a port of the original with the addition of achievements, 4 player co-op online and offline.
No price or release date annouced."
i've always loved this game and if it is true ill be happy as hell. i've been less than impressed with xbla over their last few months of additions but this is nice. playing four players over live will be great. the only weird thing about these screenshots is that it still says "insert coins" on the screen. maybe they just decided to keep it like that though.
yeah genius your right, everyone wants to wait 10 years to get a new operating system or a new console. who cares what technology comes out after launch, we just want something that cant be upgraded for 10 years. oh and how about throwing in a super expensive dvd player and a years worth of delays. that'd be fantastic
a console that lasts 10 years is impressive and you have to praise sony for it. but i'm tired of hearing about the ps2's success. yes it has achieved some things no other system ever will, but that wasnt due to how great it was it was cause of the competition. the gamecube was a joke and the xbox came out too late without a good list of games. but to praise the ps2 is dumb considering xbox came with a harddrive, was internet ready, allowed you to play music during games, had brilliant online ...
