As a fellow PS3 owner I would just like to say this article is stupid and causes nothing but flaming. I can see why it is the hot story on N4G because this place responds to this crap.
Please 360 owners don't think all PS3 owners act like many of these stupid asses on this site. I am excited about the 360 giving competition to my PS3 and I will probably buy a 360 at Christmas. The amount of PS3 filth this site attracts makes me sick but we are all not like this.

If you didn't get a beta code you really aren't missing much at all.

I plan on buying a 360 when Gears 2 comes out but when I bought my PS3 HOME never was a factor.
I'm in the beta as well and I wouldn't go as far as calling it a "killer app" it is definitely a fun little free service.
One thing that surprises me about it is how more open people are to socialize. You have a world of people you can just walk up to anybody and say "HI!". However, after a few days the novelty starts to wear a bit. Right now the place feels rather empty, but hopefully they roll out a lot more before they go public.

I'm in the HOME beta and it's actually a lot more appealing than I thought it would be.
It's a 24hr a day dance party and surprised to see as many females in it as I have. I just hope the place doesn't turn to crap when it rolls out of beta. Too many immature idiot gamers(as N4G proves daily) and right now there is just a few and when they start throwing out slurs everyone gangs up on them and tells them to GTFO.

Siligon you do know that MS will have optional installs in ALL of their games when the new dashboard update comes out for 360 owners? That is the nice thing about the DVD9(one of the only nice things) is that it is fast enough that you don't have to require an install but now people who want the extra boost can install the game completely to their HDD.
Bubbles to 1.6. For some reason some PS3 owners cannot seem to get it thru their thick heads that this console is aimed at a completely different demo than the Premium and Elite systems.

DaTruth dude you need to read the statement from the dev's at id. They said they are not cutting anything just instead of having 5 seperate land areas they will combined them into 2. Same scope but with just 2 so it is easier to divide amongst 2 dvd's.
