Yea. I played the updated version on PC later and it was crap. It was the motion aiming controls that the games hype came from.
Your absolutely right I never touched the mercenaries side of it. I never completed the game. Don’t know how far I was off it but just got bored. I seem to remember I was in a deep canyon making my way up. And there was puzzles and bosses to unlock each door on each level. Something like that, it was a long time ago.
RE4 Is such a strange phenomenon. The game itself is garbage and destroyed the franchise. Yet it was innovative enough… on the wii… because of its motion controls that it somehow got this cult following and it’s been held up ever since. I think it’s a bad game and a terrible resident evil game. Maybe even the worst of the series (I haven’t played 6). It even annoys me that it’s still talked about in high regard. I just don’t get it but that’s just me.
There goes the death of the last bit of fun left within the industry. RIP.
I grew up on these point and click adventure games and absolutely loved them. All of them. Owned them all, completed them all.
The strangest thing is they just don’t work anymore in todays society and I don’t know why. They just fail to hold interest. Even going back to what I considered some of the greatest.
I just don’t understand why they don’t work anymore and feel sorry for those who never experienced these games growing up. Even I can’t play them ...
Looking forward to them dropping. Loved RE2, bought RE3 last night in preparation for the update. For £13 can’t complain.

I initially thought this comment was sarcasm. It looks almost identical the only noticeable difference while playing the game is the increased FPS. Which is nice. With my i5 9k @5gz rtx2070 super @2100. 1440p at maximum quality settings. I get average 50 FPS. So it’s nice I get a steady 60fps on my PS5 but it doesn’t match the fidelity of stock pc version without any mods. Considering it’s on a console tho it’s not bad. There’s certainly nothing spectacular about it.

Just gave this a go after a few months away from it. Wow, it’s still so bad. I literally spawned in my very first go with no gun. Then I got in a tank and the aim was no where even close to my crosshairs. I played for a little while but I couldn’t complete the full match I had to quit. It really was a colossal train wreck of a release wasn’t it.
It was ugly as hell I had 3 of them although one was a slim. I would say the PS5 is uglier though. That thing gets hid behind my tv.
