Nintendo deserves this. Actually, the probably don't even care. But they know what they did with their Wii (grow up readers) and they know the standards that the competition put up. Not saying XBL is foolproof, but I expected this to happen to the PSN version. PS3 versions always get screwed up one way or another. It's a simple historical fact :)
With XBL going down back then, they at least gave out a token to download a game for free, but that was their whole service if I'm not mistaken.

Why does being short mean it's a bad thing?
Many games that go on for long can get tedious, boring, and you may not finish it because it takes too long.
Shorter games seem to be more punchy, exciting, and replayable.
Though this is not true for all games, quantity of time does not mean less quality, and quality of a game does not mean it has to have a high quantity of time.
